Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Remains out of lineup
Muncy (knee) will remain on the bench Saturday against San Diego.
Muncy hasn't played since receiving a cortisone injection in his left knee Wednesday. He hasn't looked like he's playing through an injury, as he went 6-for-9 with three home runs in the two games prior to his absence, but he's apparently been dealing with the issue for a while. With the Dodgers safely atop the NL West, the team has no need to rush Muncy back, so it's possible he sits for a few more days. Justin Turner will be the third baseman Saturday, with Will Smith serving as the designated hitter.

Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY
Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Not starting Saturday
McMahon isn't in the lineup Saturday against Arizona, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
McMahon went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs, a walk and a strikeout Friday but will head to the bench for the second time in the last three games. Elehuris Montero will start at the hot corner and bat seventh.

Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Reds' Nick Senzel: Not in Saturday's lineup
Senzel isn't starting Saturday against the Brewers.
Senzel was back in action over the last two games but went 0-for-8 with a run, a walk and two strikeouts. TJ Friedl will draw the start in center field and lead off Saturday.

Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA
Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Activated by Cubs
Wisdom (finger) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Saturday, Gordon Wittenmyer of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
Wisdom took batting practice ahead of Thursday's matchup against the Reds and has been cleared to rejoin the Cubs without a rehab assignment. He isn't starting Saturday against the Giants but will be available off the bench and should serve as the Cubs' primary first baseman now that he's back to full health.

Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA
Cubs' Nick Madrigal: Placed on injured list
Madrigal was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right groin strain Saturday, Gordon Wittenmyer of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
Madrigal exited Friday's matchup with a groin issue, and he'll be sidelined for at least a week and a half after being diagnosed with a strain. Zach McKinstry is starting at second base Saturday against the Giants and should see the majority of the playing time at the keystone during Madrigal's absence.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Giants' Evan Longoria: Sitting Saturday
Longoria isn't starting Saturday against the Cubs, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Longoria started the last two games and went 2-for-8 with a double, two RBI and three strikeouts. J.D. Davis will take over at the hot corner and bat third Saturday.

Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA
Cubs' Nick Madrigal: On bench Saturday
Madrigal (groin) isn't starting Saturday against the Giants.
Madrigal was removed from Friday's matchup due to right groin tightness, and he'll be held out of the lineup for at least one game. It's not yet clear whether he'll be available off the bench, but Zach McKinstry will start at second base and lead off.

Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY
Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Slugs two homers
McMahon went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs and a walk Friday against the Diamondbacks.
McMahon took Zach Davies yard in the first and fourth innings to bring his homer total on the season to 15. He has gone 4-for-14 with two RBI and five runs scored in the first three games of Colorado's current homestand. McMahon has maintained a .246/.331/.404 line across 513 plate appearances on the season.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Reaches base five times
Machado went 3-for-3 with three singles and two walks in a 5-4 victory over the Dodgers on Friday.
Machado was perfect at the dish Friday, singling in the third, fifth and seventh innings and walking in the first and 10th. The quality outing was overdue, as the 30-year-old had gone hitless across his last three games and was batting 3-for-23 in September coming into the contest. Machado is now slashing .302/.370/.532 with 26 home runs, 85 runs, 88 RBI and seven stolen bases in 128 games.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Sitting with sore knee
Muncy is being held out Friday after receiving a cortisone injection in his left knee Wednesday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
It was surprising that Muncy was not in Friday's lineup after racking up six hits, three homers and six RBI over his last two appearances, but it appears he was not simply getting a night off. According to the report, Muncy's knee "has been bothering him for some time" and he figured it was "best to address it before (the) postseason." He could conceivably return to the lineup Saturday, but it seems more likely he'll get additional time to recover.
