Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Reds' Kevin Newman: Gets third consecutive start
Newman will start at third base and bat sixth in Monday's game against the Padres.
Newman has indirectly benefited from Wil Myers (illness) having recently joined Joey Votto (shoulder) on the injured list. As a result of the absences of Myers and Votto, Spencer Steer has shifted across the diamond to log more time at first base of late, opening up more work in the infield for Newman in the process. Newman will pick up his third straight start after he went 3-for-8 with a walk, two RBI and a run between the final two games of the Reds' weekend series in Oakland.

Carter Kieboom 3B | CLE
Nationals' Carter Kieboom: Ready for rehab assignment
Kieboom (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Harrisburg on Wednesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Kieboom's recovery from Tommy John surgery hit a snag in the spring when he suffered a right shoulder impingement, but he's now ready to return to a live setting for the first time since 2021. While the shine has faded on the former top prospect, Kieboom is still only 25 years old and the Nationals figure to give him another chance to prove himself at the major-league level once he's fully up to speed.

Jeimer Candelario 3B | LAA
Nationals' Jeimer Candelario: Two hits, two RBI in win
Candelario went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI in Sunday's win over Pittsburgh.
Candelario got the scoring started off Johan Ovideo on Sunday, smacking a two-out, two-run double in the first inning to give the Nats an early lead. Candelario has cooled off following a fast start to the season. Including Sunday's multi-hit effort, he's gone 4-for-27 over his last seven games. Candelario should continue to see an everyday role as Washington's third baseman, but it's hard to see him having consistent fantasy value in one of the league's weaker lineups. He's now slashing .239/.292/.404 with four home runs, 14 RBI and 12 runs scored through 120 plate appearances.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Evan Longoria: Hits first homer in three weeks
Longoria went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Sunday's 12-4 loss to Colorado.
Longoria finally broke out of his slump, hitting his first home run since April 7 while also receiving his first walk since April 14. In his last six appearances leading up to Sunday's contest, Longoria was 1-for-20 (.050) at the plate without a single run scored. Considering his struggles with the bat, his minuscule role platooning with Josh Rojas and the ascension of Emmanuel Rivera, it's difficult to see Longoria etching out a fantasy-relevant role this season.

J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Giants' J.D. Davis: Clubs sixth homer
Davis went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Padres.
Davis took advantage of the increased elevation in Mexico City, taking Yu Darvish yard for a solo homer in the second inning. He followed up the long ball with a single off Darvish in the fourth that advanced Michael Conforto to third, who would eventually come around to score. Davis now has six homers on the season, a threshold he has surpassed just twice in six years in the bigs.

Drew Maggi 3B | PIT
Pirates' Drew Maggi: Sent down after twin bill
The Pirates returned Maggi to Double-A Altoona following Saturday's doubleheader against the Nationals.
Maggi remained with the club for Saturday's twin bill and picked up his first big-league hit in the nightcap, going 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI and a run. The minor-league journeyman finally received a taste of the big leagues but is now headed back to Altoona, where he has a .468 OPS in eight games to open the season.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Evan Longoria: Going through rough patch
Longoria started at designated hitter and went 0-for-5 in Saturday's 11-4 win over the Rockies.
Longoria has just one hit over the late 21 at-bats, lowering his season average to .208. He could be in danger of losing plate appearances to Emmanuel Rivera, who started at third base and had three hits Saturday.
-
Emmanuel Rivera 3B | BAL
Diamondbacks' Emmanuel Rivera: Adds three more hits
Rivera started at third base and went 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's 11-4 win over Colorado.
Rivera got the start at third against a righty instead of Josh Rojas, who gave Ketel Marte a rest at second base. Rivera has hit in all four games since being called up as a replacement for Jake McCarthy, going 7-for-12 with two RBI. He's currently third on the depth chart at the hot corner behind Rojas and Evan Longoria, who has one hit in last 21 at-bats and is batting .208.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Crushes two homers
Machado went 3-for-4 with a double, two homers, three RBI, four runs scored and one steal in Saturday's win over San Francisco.
Machado delivered a two-run home run in the seventh inning that gave the Padres the lead for good. The third baseman has three homers in the last two games after swatting just one long ball in his first 25 games of the season. The recent outburst has pumped up his numbers, but he is still slashing a disappointing .245/.289/.406 in 2023.
