Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Reds' Kevin Newman: Notches steal off bench
Newman went 0-for-1 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 7-6 loss to Atlanta.
Newman has gotten on base safely in all but one of his last seven games, and he's added two steals and four RBI in that span. The infielder's playing time is on the decline with the Reds' infield at full health, and he'll likely be confined to a short-side platoon role going forward. Newman has a .266/.325/.380 slash line with three home runs, 26 RBI, 22 runs scored and six steals through 206 plate appearances this season.

Austin Riley 3B | ATL
Braves' Austin Riley: Picks up rare steal
Riley went 0-for-2 with two walks, a stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Reds.
Both of Riley's steals this season have come in June -- the other was versus the Nationals on June 9. The third baseman has gone 12-for-46 (.261) with five walks over his last 11 contests. He's slashing .265/.333/.440 with 13 home runs, 38 RBI, 50 runs scored and 14 doubles through 77 games. While that's still above average from a league-wide perspective, Riley's had a bit of trouble hitting for power this year compared to his last two seasons.

Emmanuel Rivera 3B | BAL
Diamondbacks' Emmanuel Rivera: Not in Sunday's lineup
Rivera is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at San Francisco.
Rivera will take a seat for the second time in Arizona's past three games. Evan Longoria will start at the hot corner Sunday, and the pair should split playing time at the position going forward after Josh Rojas was demoted Monday.

Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN
Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Out of Sunday's lineup
Hayes is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.comreports.
The 26-year-old started the past six games and will take a seat after he posted a .640 OPS and 32 percent strikeout rate during that stretch. Rodolfo Castro will man the hot corner and bat eighth in Hayes' place Sunday.

Jeimer Candelario 3B | LAA
Nationals' Jeimer Candelario: Pops ninth homer
Candelario went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 2-0 win over the Padres.
Candelario had gone 11 games without a homer, though he hit .270 (10-for-37) in that span. His blast came off Matt Waldron in the first inning and was ultimately all Washington needed in the win. Candelario has hit safely in seven of his last nine games and is up to a .255/.333/.454 slash line with nine long balls, 33 RBI, 35 runs scored, two stolen bases and 23 doubles over 72 contests in 2023. He continues to hold down a starting job at third base.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Returning Tuesday
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Muncy (hamstring) will take live at-bats Sunday and be activated from the injured list Tuesday, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.
Muncy has been out since June 13 with a strained left hamstring, and he will be back in the starting lineup when he returns Tuesday against Colorado. The 32-year-old slugger is slashing .191/.323/.474 with 18 homers and 45 RBI across 251 plate appearances this season.

Brett Baty 3B | NYM
Mets' Brett Baty: Sitting versus lefty
Baty isn't starting Saturday against Philadelphia, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Left-hander Cristopher Sanchez will take the mound to begin Saturday's contest for the Phillies, meaning the lefty-hitting Baty will start in the Mets' dugout. Danny Mendick will make his season debut and start at third base while batting ninth.

Warming Bernabel 3B | WAS
Rockies' Warming Bernabel: Dealing with back injury
Bernabel (back) has been on the 7-day injured list since May 26.
Bernabel was one of the bigger risers in the Rockies' organization in 2022 and reached High-A Spokane during his age-20 season. He began 2023 with Double-A Hartford and hasn't experienced the same success, maintaining just a .630 OPS across 126 plate appearances. It's unclear how long the injury had affected him prior to landing on the injured list, so he could be in for an improved second half of the season.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Evan Longoria: Smacks 10th homer
Longoria went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 8-5 loss against the Giants.
Longoria is on a four-game hit streak and is slashing .320/.379/.800 in the month of June. That's the good news; the bad news is he's started just six of 21 games during the month. The longtime veteran is on pace to hit his most homers in a season since 2019, when he launched 20 as a member of the Giants. The demotion of Josh Rojas to Triple-A Reno benefits Longoria, but the Diamondbacks have mostly rolled with Emmanuel Rivera (.316 average, .372 BABIP) at third base. Additionally, the return of Alek Thomas from Reno crowds the outfield, which has moved Lourdes Gurriel to the primary DH spot.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Still feeling hamstring tightness
Muncy (hamstring) won't be activated from the 10-day IL on Saturday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Muncy is still feeling tightness in his left hamstring, and he isn't guaranteed to be activated off the IL before next week. The 32-year-old will miss at least two more games as he recovers, and fantasy managers shouldn't assume he'll be back in the lineup for Sunday's finale against Houston, either.
