Senzel went 1-for-2 with a solo home run Thursday in a loss to the Diamondbacks.

Senzel was called up from Triple-A Louisville on Thursday afternoon and made an impact in his first game back in the majors, tying the score 1-1 with his eighth-inning solo shot. That at-bat came as a pinch hitter for Nick Martini, who started the game at DH. Senzel appears unlikely to play on an everyday basis, though he could force his way into the lineup if he's able to build upon Thursday's effort and turn around what has been a mostly forgettable campaign thus far.

Peterson is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Reds.

Evan Longoria will start at third base and bat sixth as the Diamondbacks take on left-hander Brandon Williamson. Peterson has posted a weak .416 OPS in 54 plate appearances against southpaws this year between Oakland and Arizona.

Cincinnati recalled Senzel from Triple-A Louisville on Thursday.

Senzel has posted underwhelming numbers between the majors and minors this year, but the Reds need him as position player depth after losing Joey Votto (shoulder) to the injured list. The 28-year-old former top prospect seems doubtful to deliver meaningful fantasy production.

Kieboom is starting at third base and batting fifth Thursday versus the Yankees.

Jake Alu is poised to play more in left field with the Nationals losing Stone Garrett to a fractured left fibula Wednesday, which likely shifts Ildemaro Vargas into the bulk of starts at second base and opens up a lot of reps for Kieboom at third. The 25-year-old former top prospect hit a solo home run Tuesday off Carlos Rodon in his first major-league at-bat since 2021. He had posted a .789 OPS with five homers and 23 RBI in 34 games for Triple-A Rochester prior to his promotion.

Hayes went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and double Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Hayes took Zack Thompson yard in the fifth inning to tally his ninth homer of the season. Four of his long balls have come in 18 games since he was activated from the injured list Aug. 2, and he's also tacked on six additional extra-base knocks. He has yet to attempt a stolen base since his return.

Kieboom went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's victory over the Yankees.

In his first major-league at-bat since 2021, Kieboom launched a solo home run off Carlos Rodon to put the Nats ahead 1-0 in the third. Once a top prospect, the 25-year-old Kieboom had struggled to a .198 average in his first two big-league seasons. He'd been swinging the bat well in Triple-A, going 24-for-82 (.293) with a .814 OPS over his last 22 games, earning another look in Washington. The rebuilding Nats could give Kieboom an extended opportunity at third base down the stretch.

Peterson started at third base and went 0-for-1 with a walk in Tuesday's 6-3 win over Texas.

The lefty-batting Peterson usually starts against right-handers, as was the case Tuesday, but his track record against southpaws makes him vulnerable to being pinch hit for against left-handed relievers. That happened again, as Buddy Kennedy replaced him when Brock Burke entered the contest. Peterson is slashing .170/.245/.170 over 52 plate appearances against lefties this season.

Candelario went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run home run in Monday's 8-6 loss to the Tigers.

Candelario continued his excellent play for the Cubs since coming over at the trade deadline, as he's now batting .349 with two home runs and 12 runs scored across 18 games. The infielder also has 36 doubles this season, which is good for second in the majors behind Freddie Freeman.

Monasterio is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Twins.

Monasterio is stuck in a 1-for-22 slump and has posted an overall .200/.288/.323 batting line in 73 plate appearances since the calendar flipped to August. Brian Anderson will play third base and hit ninth for Milwaukee on Tuesday against Minnesota.

Hayes is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Cardinals.

This appears to be a scheduled day of rest for Hayes, who went 1-for-5 with a double in Monday's series against St. Louis. Vinny Capra will play third base and bat seventh Tuesday as the Pirates take on veteran right-hander Adam Wainwright.
