Donaldson (hamstring) is scheduled to play third base in a simulated game Sunday at the Twins' alternate site in Saint Paul, Darren Wolfson of Channel 5 Saint Paul reports.

If Donaldson is able to complete the simulated game without any setbacks to his right hamstring strain, he'll likely be on track to return from the 10-day injured list ahead of the Twins' home series versus Boston, which begins Monday. Luis Arraez has been the primary replacement at third base for Donaldson, but he'll likely move to left field once the latter is reinstated from the IL.

Angels manager Joe Maddon said Rendon is being held out of the lineup Sunday against the Blue Jays after he "felt something" in his left groin during Saturday's 15-1 loss, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. "I don't know if he's gonna need more than one day," Maddon said of Rendon.

Rendon suffered the injury in question while making a throw across the diamond. The Angels are hoping that a day off will be enough to resolve the issue, but fantasy managers will still want to check back on Rendon's condition heading into Monday's series opener in Kansas City. Jose Rojas will spell Rendon at third base Sunday.

Rendon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

In somewhat of a surprise, Rendon will head to the bench for the second time in 10 games this season. Despite the fact that Rendon has now been out of the lineup twice in less than a week, manager Joe Maddon hasn't suggested that the 30-year-old is dealing with an injury. Through his eight starts, Rendon is hitting .290/.378/.387 across 37 plate appearances.

Urias remains out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Heading into spring training, Urias had been considered a candidate to open the season as the Orioles' primary second baseman, but Baltimore's late signing of Maikel Franco seems to have thwarted those plans. With Franco taking over as the everyday third baseman, Rio Ruiz has since been pushed over to the keystone, where he's emerged as the primary option. Urias will be on the bench Sunday for a seventh time in the Orioles' nine games this season.

Candelario went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's loss to Cleveland.

Detroit was down 11-1 when Candelario blasted his home run, but he won't complain about his first long ball of the season. The 27-year-old infielder hit seven home runs in 52 games last season. His career best is the 19 homers he recorded across 144 games back in 2018.

Devers went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Orioles.

After recording only two hits in 19 at-bats through his first five starts of the season, Devers has been able to get back on track in Baltimore. Through the first two games of the series, Devers has slugged a pair of home runs while reaching base six times in total. He'll have a good opportunity to keep the momentum going Sunday versus Orioles starter Jorge Lopez. Per Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican, Devers is 2-for-2 with two home runs, a walk and four RBI in his three career plate appearances versus Lopez.

Rendon went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Rendon's fourth-inning solo shot was a small murmur of protest against a Toronto team that ran away with a 15-1 victory, but it was nonetheless a welcome sign after the star third baseman had gone through his first 27 at-bats of the campaign without an extra-base hit. Despite the lack of power, Rendon has reached base at a strong .378 clip.

Bregman's legs are "a little sore," which is why he is not in Saturday's lineup against the A's, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

He will get a couple days to rest up, as the Astros have Sunday off before starting a three-game series with the Tigers on Monday. Aledmys Diaz is starting at third base and batting seventh.

Donaldson (hamstring) could come off the injured list Monday or Tuesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

He sprinted and ran the bases Saturday and looked good doing so, per Park. Donaldson will take some grounders and hit batting practice before getting some at-bats in at the alternate training site Saturday. It sounds like he is going to return early next week if he avoids setbacks. In the meantime, Luis Arraez will continue to fill in at the hot corner.

Bregman is not in Saturday's lineup against the A's, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Bregman hit .471 with two home runs over his first four games but is 1-for-12 over his last three starts. Aledmys Diaz gets the start at third base and will bat seventh.
