  • Royals' Emmanuel Rivera: Benefiting from Witt's absence

Rivera will start at third base and bat cleanup in Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Rivera will stay in the lineup for the fourth consecutive game after going 4-for-12 with two runs and an RBI over the previous three contests. He's been the main beneficiary of rookie Bobby Witt's ongoing absence due to a hamstring injury, but Rivera will likely move back into a reserve role if Witt demonstrates enough progress within the next days to avoid a trip to the injured list.

  • Jose Miranda 3B | MIN

Twins' Jose Miranda: Another three-hit game

Miranda went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Brewers.

For the second day in a row, Miranda produced exactly three hits and two RBI, lifting his season average up to .271 in the process. The rookie has been especially productive following his second minor-league call-up May 30, as he's slashing an incredible .326/.369/.545 in 41 games over the past two months. At this stage, Miranda seems to have established him as a mainstay in the lineup, and Miguel Sano's recent return from the injured list doesn't look as though it'll change that.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Twins' Gio Urshela: Heads to bench Wednesday

Urshela is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

He'll retreat to the bench for a day game after a night game, allowing Jose Miranda to get a turn at the hot corner. Urshela had started at third base in each of the Twins' previous three games while going 4-for-11 with a home run, a double, a walk, six RBI and two additional runs.

  • Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Power surge continues

Candelario went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double and an additional RBI in Tuesday's 6-4 extra-inning loss to the Padres.

Candelario has now left the yard three times in the past two days and on four occasions since the All-Star break, nearly matching his home-run total from the entire first half of the season (six). The 28--year-old's recent power surge has allowed him to reclaim everyday duties at third base after he appeared at risk of losing the job to Willi Castro heading into the break.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Gets aboard three times Tuesday

Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a pair of walks, a stolen base and a run scored in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Red Sox.

Ramirez was on the front end of a double steal with Josh Naylor in the fourth inning. This was Ramirez's first steal since July 10, and he's now 14-for-18 on the basepaths this year. The All-Star third baseman has hit .266 (21-for-79) in July, and he's slashing .289/.367/.567 with 19 home runs, 79 RBI and 55 runs scored through 92 contests overall.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Rays' Isaac Paredes: Two hits including homer

Paredes went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Orioles.

Paredes singled in the first inning before later taking Spenser Watkins deep for a solo shot in the top of the fourth frame. The homer was his 14th of the year and first in 14 games. After a red-hot stretch from June 20-July 5 over which he launched eight homers and drove in 16 runs, Paredes has gone 5-for-40 with just two extra-base hits and one RBI over his last 11 contests. Overall, the 23-year-old is batting .224 with 14 homers, 29 RBI and 29 runs in 174 at-bats over 54 games in his first season with the Rays.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Launches crucial homer

Urias went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Rays.

Urias launched a two-run homer off Colin Poche in the bottom of the eighth inning, giving the Orioles a 4-3 lead. The long ball was his 11th of the season and second in five games since the All-Star break. Urias now owns a eight-game hit streak and he's secured at least one hit in 10 of his last 11 contests. Since returning from the injured list July 4, the 28-year-old is batting .397 with five homers, 18 RBI and 11 runs over 58 at-bats in 17 games.

  • Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Goes deep twice

Candelario went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Monday's 12-4 win over San Diego.

Candelario knocked a solo shot off of Sean Manaea in the fourth inning followed by a two-run homer against MacKenzie Gore in the fifth. He's gone deep four times over his last 11 appearances after snapping a 20-game homerless drought. The 28-year-old is slashing .203/.269/.352 with nine home runs and 30 runs scored on the year.

  • Jonah Bride 3B | TEX

Athletics' Jonah Bride: Reinstated from injured list

Bride (shoulder) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Bride spent nearly a month on the injured list due to his shoulder injury, but he'll rejoin the active roster after spending a week and a half in the minors on a rehab assignment. He hit .318 with a homer, a double, four runs and three RBI over seven rehab games and should see plenty of playing time at third base now that he's back to full health. However, he isn't starting Monday against the Astros.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Rays' Isaac Paredes: Not starting Monday

Paredes isn't in the lineup Monday against the Orioles, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Paredes went 0-for-4 with a strikeout during Sunday's loss to the Rays and is out of the lineup for the second time in the last three games. Ji-Man Choi is starting at first base while Luke Raley serves as the designated hitter.
