  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Records steal in win

Ramirez went 2-for-5 with an RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored in Monday's 11-4 win over the Twins.

Ramirez has logged two steals in his last three games and three in four attempts in September. For the season, he's up to 17 swiped bags in 24 tries. The third baseman recorded his first multi-hit effort in six contests Monday. He's posted a .279/.357/.525 slash line with 28 home runs, 113 RBI and 82 runs scored across 143 games this year.

  • Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Not in Monday's lineup

Candelario isn't starting Monday against the Orioles.

Candelario went 0-for-3 with an RBI during Sunday's loss to the White Sox and will head to the bench for the second time in the last three games. Miguel Cabrera is serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup.

  • Zack Gelof 2B | ATH

Athletics' Zack Gelof: Finishing year at Triple-A

The Athletics promoted Gelof from Double-A Midland to Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday.

Gelof, who appeared in three games for Las Vegas in 2021, will rejoin the Athletics' top affiliate after Midland's season concluded Sunday. Over 402 plate appearances at the Double-A level this season, Gelof slashed .271/.356/.438 with 13 home runs and nine stolen bases.

  • Taylor Walls 3B | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Back on bench after three starts

Walls is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Astros, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Walls closed out the Rays' weekend series with the Rangers by making three consecutive starts out of the middle infield while going 2-for-9 with a home run, a walk, two RBI and two additional runs. Though he'll be on the bench Monday, Walls should see his opportunities pick up following the recent placement of Brandon Lowe (back) on the injured list. Walls will be vying for playing time at the keystone with Jonathan Aranda and Isaac Paredes.

  • Abraham Toro 1B | BOS

Mariners' Abraham Toro: Filling in for Suarez

Toro will start at third base and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Angels.

He'll stick in the lineup for the third game in a row after going 2-for-7 with a double between the previous two contests. With Eugenio Suarez (finger) moving to the injured list Saturday, Toro looks like he'll settle in as the Mariners' everyday third baseman for the time being.

  • Tyler Freeman 3B | COL

Guardians' Tyler Freeman: Picking up playing time

Freeman will start at third base and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Twins, Joe Noga of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

He'll pick up his third consecutive start in a row, all of which have come against right-handed pitchers. Through his first 72 big-league plate appearances, Freeman is slashing .254/.333/.302, but the Guardians may view that modest level of production as an upgrade over what the slumping Owen Miller is currently providing. Miller, who is on the bench for the fourth time in six games, owns a .579 OPS in the second half.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Homers in series finale

Jung went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, two RBI and a strikeout during Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.

Although the Rangers struggled to generate much offensive production Sunday, Jung performed well with his first multi-hit performance since his major-league debut Sept. 9. The 24-year-old has recorded hits in eight of his first 10 games with the Rangers and has hit .250 with three home runs, three doubles, six RBI, four runs and a stolen base.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Drives in three runs

Devers went 4-for-6 with a double and three RBI in Sunday's 13-3 win over the Royals.

Devers knocked a two-run single in the fifth inning followed by another RBI single in the eighth. It's been an up-and-down September for the star third baseman; after three straight multi-hit games to begin the month, Devers hit just .216 over his next 10 games before Sunday's strong effort. He's now slashing .292/.351/.527 with 66 extra-base hits and 82 RBI through 556 plate appearances.

  • Matt Duffy 3B | TEX

    Angels' Matt Duffy: Receives breather

Duffy is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners, Sarah Valenzuela of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Luis Rengifo will step in at third base while Duffy rests after starting 13 of the Angels' last 15 games at either corner-infield spot. Since his return from the injured list Aug. 29, Duffy is slashing .200/.273/.300 with three extra-base hits.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Goes deep again Saturday

Donaldson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss to Milwaukee.

New York managed little offense against the combination of Brandon Woodruff and Devin Williams, but Donaldson ensured that the team didn't get shut out with his solo homer in the fourth inning. The long ball was his second in as many days and his third over his past six games. Donaldson still has just 15 homers on the campaign and has struggled with a 26.4 percent strikeout rate, which is on pace to be his worst mark over any full season in his career.
