  • Luis Rengifo 3B | LAA

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Multi-hit performance in win

Rengifo went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Monday's victory over the Rangers.

After Taylor Ward gave the Angels a one-run lead to start the sixth inning, Rengifo padded the advantage a few batters later with a two-run homer. The switch-hitting infielder has posted just a .612 OPS this season after topping .720 in each of the previous three years. While never known for his power, his 13 doubles, one triple and five home runs through 100 games translate to a weak .328 slugging percentage. Despite his struggles, Rengifo has continued to see steady playing time, thanks in part to his defensive versatility but also due to injuries to fellow infielders Yoan Moncada (hand), Chris Taylor (hand) and Christian Moore (thumb).

  • Kevin Newman 3B | LAA

Angels' Kevin Newman: Swats second homer in win

Newman went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Monday's win over the Rangers.

The second baseman opened the scoring Monday with a rocket home run to left-center off ace Jacob deGrom in the third inning. It was Newman's second long ball of the season, coming exactly one month after his first on June 28. The veteran had struggled mightily in July, entering the game with a .217/.217/.217 slash line and just one RBI in 23 at-bats. Despite his season-long struggles, Newman has remained on the roster, largely due to injuries to Christian Moore (thumb), Chris Taylor (hand) and Yoan Moncada (hand).

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Adds trio of hits in rout

Westburg went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Monday's 11-4 win over the Blue Jays.

It was Westburg's seventh game with at least three hits this season and his fourth such effort of the month of July. The 26-year-old infielder has gotten into a rhythm at the dish after missing about a month and a half due to a hamstring strain -- Westburg is slashing .289/.338/.504 with seven home runs, five doubles, 17 RBI and 26 runs scored across his last 130 plate appearances (32 games).

  • Rays' Junior Caminero: Swats 27th homer

Caminero went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Monday's 4-2 victory over the Yankees.

The Rays third baseman took New York starter Cam Schlittler deep to left field in the first inning to tally the game's first two runs. This long ball marks Caminero's fourth since participating in the Home Run Derby during the All-Star weekend, as he's hit .292 (12-for-41) with 10 RBI and five runs scored in 10 games since then. The 22-year-old is slashing .256/.297/.510 with 70 RBI and 60 runs scored in 428 plate appearances across 101 games.

  • Andy Ibanez 3B | DET

Tigers' Andy Ibanez: Returns with home run

Ibanez went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 5-1 win over the Diamondbacks.

Ibanez was recalled from Triple-A Toledo earlier in the day, and he quickly made an impact for the Tigers. The utility player was inserted into the lineup due to his strong splits against lefties, and that decision paid off when he took Arizona starter Eduardo Rodriguez deep in the fourth inning for his third home run of the season. Ibanez will likely settle into a bench role for Detroit, which limits his fantasy upside, but he can do some damage against southpaws.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

Angels' Yoan Moncada: Remains idle Monday

Moncada (hand) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers.

Moncada was hit by a pitch Saturday and will now miss his second consecutive contest. X-rays, however, did come back negative, so Moncada continues to be viewed as day-to-day. Kevin Newman will make another start at third base and bat ninth Monday versus Texas. In his first season with the Halos, Moncada is slashing .216/.321/.455 with eight home runs, 22 RBI, 21 runs scored and an 18:39 BB:K across 156 plate appearances. He's played in just 42 games in another injury-riddled campaign.

  • Zach McKinstry 3B | DET

Tigers' Zach McKinstry: Getting night off vs. lefty

McKinstry is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks.

McKinstry will join fellow left-handed hitters Colt Keith and Kerry Carpenter on the bench while southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez takes the hill for Arizona. Andy Ibanez will fill in at third base in place of McKinstry, who had started in 15 of the Tigers' previous 16 contests.

  • Will Wagner 2B | SD

Blue Jays' Will Wagner: Returns from restricted list

The Blue Jays reinstated Wagner from the restricted list Monday.

Wagner was away from the club for the previous two days so that he could attend his father's Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cooperstown. He will start at third base and bat ninth in Monday's game versus the Orioles.

  • Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA

Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Losing time after McMahon trade

Peraza is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays.

Peraza will hit the bench for the third game in a row and will likely see limited use in a utility role for the foreseeable future after the Yankees addressed their need for an everyday third baseman by acquiring Ryan McMahon from the Rockies over the weekend. Before McMahon's arrival, Peraza had been serving as New York's primary option at the hot corner, but the 25-year-old has slashed just .152/.212/.241 over 170 plate appearances with the Yankees on the season and doesn't look ready for extended playing time in the majors.

  • Andy Ibanez 3B | DET

Tigers' Andy Ibanez: Rejoins major-league club

The Tigers recalled Ibanez from Triple-A Toledo on Monday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Ibanez has been with Toledo since early June but will get another chance in the big leagues after slashing .268/.376/.437 this month in the minors. The 32-year-old should see some reps for the Tigers against left-handed pitching and will enter the lineup Monday against the Diamondbacks, manning third base and batting sixth.
