  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Rays' Evan Longoria: Raps out three hits Saturday

Longoria (neck) went 3-for-3 in Saturday's 9-2 loss to the Mariners.

As expected, Longoria shook off the neck stiffness that had caused him to exit Friday's game early and responded with his first game with more than two hits since May 19. The veteran third baseman has hit Seattle pitching well over the first two games of the series in going 4-for-7 over that span, although all four hits have been singles. Barring any setbacks overnight, Longoria should be in the lineup again for Sunday's series finale.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Mariners' Jean Segura: Optimistic regarding return

Segura (ankle) is optimistic he will back from the DL before the end of June, Bob Dutton of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Segura, who was placed on the disabled list Saturday, said he is already seeing major improvement after getting treatment to reduce swelling. "If it feels good over the next couple of days, maybe I'll do some activities," he said. This is great news from the recovery standpoint as it appears the hot-hitting shortstop won't be sidelined for too long, barring any setbacks. Segura finished May with a .358 average and an .883 OPS.

  • Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW

Royals' Mike Moustakas: Drives in two Saturday

Moustakas went 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs Saturday against Cleveland.

Through 48 games, Moustakas' 14 home runs and .513 slugging percentage lead the Royals and his 29 RBI rank him second on the team. He's tied for the club lead with 26 runs, too. On the flip side, the 28-year-old's 17 percent strikeout rate is his worst since 2012 -- not to mention a killer in leagues that penalize whiffs.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Rays' Evan Longoria: In Saturday's lineup

Longoria (neck) is in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mariners.

Longoria's neck tightened up on him late Friday, leading to his early exit from the game, but it seems the discomfort has largely subsided. The 31-year-old's groundball rate is up significantly from a year ago and that has limited his power production to this point, but Longoria is trending in the right direction after a .272/.333/.456 month of May (.208/.296/.376 in April).

  • Trevor Plouffe 3B | PHI

Athletics' Trevor Plouffe: Out of Saturday's lineup

Plouffe is out of Saturday's lineup against the Nationals, Joe Stiglich of NBC Sports California reports.

This will be his third game off over the past seven contests, as a 5-for-40 cold streak over his last 11 games has understandably cost him at-bats. Ryon Healy will start at third base and hit sixth.

  • Danny Valencia 3B | BAL

Mariners' Danny Valencia: Drives in season-high five runs

Valencia went 3-for-5 with a home run, three runs, and five RBI in Friday's 12-4 win over the Rays.

Valencia now has three multi-hit efforts over his last five games and has racked up nine of his 25 RBI on the season over that stretch as well. His home run Friday was his first since May 10, but he's now compiled a .370 wOBA, four round trippers and a 39.0 percent hard contact rate since May 2 after hitting just .181 in April.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Rays' Evan Longoria: Leaves Friday's game with stiff neck

Longoria was removed from Friday's loss to the Mariners in the bottom of the seventh inning with a stiff neck, MLB.com reports.

He lined out in the top of the inning before being lifted for a defensive replacement when the Rays took the field. There's no word yet on the severity of Longoria's injury, so consider him day-to-day heading into Saturday evening's contest.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Blue Jays' Josh Donaldson: Crushes two bombs Friday

Donaldson went 2-for-5 with a pair of solo homers Friday against the Yankees.

Donaldson got the Blue Jays on the board in the first inning before adding an insurance run in the sixth inning of a home victory. Although he has fewer than 60 at-bats on the season, he hasn't disappointed when on the field, as evidenced by his elite .296/.377/.648 slash line to go with five homers.

  • Orioles' Manny Machado: Launches 11th homer of 2017 on Friday

Machado went 1-for-4 with a solo homer Friday against the Red Sox.

Machado blasted his 11th homer of the campaign to extend a first-inning lead on the way to the Orioles notching a home victory. He left the yard for just the second time since May 11, and his nightmare season continues, as he's posting an anemic .707 OPS.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Mariners' Jean Segura: Headed to DL

Segura (ankle) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Friday.

The injury is being dubbed a high ankle sprain, and it appears that the injury is serious enough to warrant a DL stint. No word has been released about how long Segura will remain out, but Taylor Motter seems to be the likely option to fill in at shortstop while he's on the shelf.
