  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

White Sox's Elvis Andrus: Ends cold spell

Andrus went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 3-1 win over the Padres.

Andrus entered the contest 0-for-22 across his last five games, though he wasn't out of the lineup in that span. He was able to put the slump to rest Friday, and he also picked up his 16th steal of the year. The shortstop now owns a .247/.302/.390 slash line with 14 home runs, 52 RBI, 62 runs scored and 31 doubles through 144 contests.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Drives in three Friday

Hoerner went 1-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and three RBI in Friday's win over the Reds.

Hoerner made the most out of having only one hit. He drove in two on a second-inning double, then recorded another RBI an inning later on a groundout. The shortstop is batting a robust .284 this season, though he does have just three hits across his last 20 at-bats. Despite some recent struggles, Hoerner remains a solid fantasy asset, particularly when he's swiping bases, as he has 19 steals in 21 attempts this year.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

    Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Season over

Marte (undisclosed) was placed on the injured list Friday.

He was originally listed as part of Friday's lineup, so it's unclear what the exact injury is, but Marte hasn't been 100 percent healthy for much of the season. Buddy Kennedy, who was recalled in a corresponding move, could get some opportunities over the final days of the season.

  • David Villar 1B | SF

    Giants' David Villar: Sitting again

Villar is not in Friday's lineup against the Diamondbacks, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

Villar has now sat three of the last four games after starting several in a row. Evan Longoria is starting at third base and hitting fifth.

  • Romy Gonzalez 2B | BOS

White Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Resting Friday

Gonzalez isn't starting Friday against the Padres.

Gonzalez started the last two games and went 2-for-7 with a triple, a run, an RBI and four strikeouts. He'll get a breather while Josh Harrison starts at the keystone and bats ninth.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Mariners' Adam Frazier: Sitting versus lefty

Frazier isn't starting Friday's game against Oakland, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

The 30-year-old second baseman has a .564 OPS this season against left-handed pitchers, so he will sit in the dugout with Ken Waldichuk set to begin the game for the A's. Dylan Moore will fill in for him at second base and lead off the Mariners' lineup.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Brewers' Luis Urias: Day off Friday

Urias isn't starting Friday against the Marlins.

Urias went 3-for-8 with two doubles and two runs over the last two games and will get a breather Friday. Jace Peterson is starting at the hot corner and batting seventh.

  • Michael Chavis 2B | CIN

    Pirates' Michael Chavis: Clears waivers

Chavis cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.

Chavis slashed just .229/.265/.389 with 14 home runs, 49 RBI, 39 runs and a stolen base over 129 major-league games this season and was designated for assignment by the Pirates on Monday. However, he'll remain in the organization ahead of the offseason after he went unclaimed on waivers.

  • Red Sox's Enrique Hernandez: Takes seat Friday

Hernandez is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Blue Jays, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Hernandez started the past 21 games and will head to the bench after he posted a .227/.310/.280 slash line during that stretch. Jarren Duran, who was promoted from Triple-A Worcester on Friday, is starting in center field and batting leadoff.

  • Blue Jays' Santiago Espinal: Increasing activity

Espinal (oblique) has begun running the bases Friday and is ramping up baseball activity, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Espinal has been out of action since Sept. 21 when he was removed from a game early. He remains on the injured list, but the Blue Jays will be evaluating him on a day-to-day basis going forward.
