Miguel Rojas 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Not in Friday's lineup
Rojas is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup against the Padres on Friday.
Despite going 6-for-12 with four RBI in his last four starts, Rojas will be on the bench for the start of Friday's game while Alex Freeland and Buddy Kennedy start at second and third base, respectively. Rojas has seen an uptick in playing time due to Tommy Edman (ankle), Hyeseong Kim (shoulder) and Max Muncy (oblique) all residing on the 10-day injured list.

Luis Urias 2B | ATH
Athletics' Luis Urias: Sitting Friday
Urias is not in the Athletics' starting lineup against the Mariners on Friday.
Urias will be on the bench for a second straight game while Darell Hernaiz starts at second base and bats seventh. Urias hasn't been that productive at the plate since the All-Star break, posting a .546 OPS with five runs, one homer and six RBI across 66 plate appearances.

Max Schuemann 2B | ATH
Athletics' Max Schuemann: Sent to Triple-A
The A's optioned Schuemann to Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.
Schuemann made the Opening Day roster, and he's bounced around the infield as needed while making the occasional start in the outfield. However, with Jacob Wilson (forearm) back from the injured list, the Athletics are no longer in need of Schuemann's services. The 28-year-old has slashed .200/.303/.288 with a 20:33 BB:K in 188 plate appearances this season.

Marcus Semien 2B | TEX
Rangers' Marcus Semien: Absent from Friday's lineup
Semien (foot) is not in the Rangers' starting lineup against the Guardians on Friday.
Semien fouled a ball off his left foot during Thursday's game against the Royals and was diagnosed with a foot contusion. Per Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com, Semien is in jeopardy of missing the entire weekend series, so his absence from Friday's lineup isn't surprising. Ezequiel Duran will draw the start at the keystone and bat eighth.

Jeff McNeil 2B | NYM
Mets' Jeff McNeil: Imaging on shoulder clean
X-rays on McNeil's right shoulder came back negative, and he is available off the bench for Friday's game against Atlanta, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
McNeil is out of the Mets' lineup for a second straight game due to a right shoulder issue, but the good news for the veteran is that imaging didn't reveal any structural damage. He'll be available off the bench as a pinch hitter and could return to the lineup at some point during this weekend's three-game road series.

Marcus Semien 2B | TEX
Rangers' Marcus Semien: Could be held out all weekend
Semien (foot) could miss the entire weekend series against the Guardians and a trip to the 10-day injured list is possible, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Semien had to be lifted from Thursday's game versus the Royals due to a left foot contusion after fouling a ball off the area. He has not been diagnosed with any fractures, but evidently the discomfort could keep him out a handful of days or longer. Ezequiel Duran, Cody Freeman and Josh Smith and Michael Helman are options to play second base for the Rangers while Semien is out.

Hye Seong Kim 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Hyeseong Kim: Begins rehab stint, plays LF
Kim (shoulder) went 2-for-3 with a run in a rehab appearance with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday. He started in left field and played five innings, per Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register.
Thursday marked Kim's first game action since July 28 as the rookie utility player progresses toward a return from left shoulder bursitis. Kim hadn't played left field prior to Thursday, but the Dodgers have gotten poor production from Michael Conforto (.618 OPS) as the primary option at the position. Los Angeles acquired Alex Call at the trade deadline and has been giving him some starts in left, but if Kim can handle the position defensively, he could get opportunities there after he's activated from the IL.

Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Set for next step in rehab
Edman (ankle) has been able to run straight ahead without pain, and manager Dave Roberts recently said the infielder/outfielder will next be "doing some curves," per MLB.com.
Edman appears to making progress in his recovery from a right ankle sprain, though the Dodgers intend to allow his ankle to fully heal before activating him off the IL. The expectation remains that Edman will remain sidelined until at least early September. A rehab stint will likely be in play before Edman returns to the big-league club, but for the time being, it's unclear when that will take place.

David Hamilton 2B | BOS
Red Sox's David Hamilton: Productive in win
Hamilton went 1-for-3 with two walks, one stolen base and two runs scored in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Yankees.
Hamilton was recalled from Triple-A Worcester earlier in the day and delivered a strong effort in his first game back in the big leagues. The infielder is a candidate for playing time in the middle infield, especially with Ceddanne Rafaela in line for more usage in the outfield while Wilyer Abreu (calf) is on the injured list. Hamilton's speed is his best asset -- he has 18 steals on 22 attempts in the majors this season despite slashing a meager .178/.240/.267 across 148 plate appearances.
