Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Adds another steal
Edman went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Reds.
Edman had multiple hits in six of his last nine games this season, picking up three steals while batting .371 (13-for-35) in that span. The utility man's production fell short of previous years in many areas, but his ability to seamlessly move between the middle infield and center field helped smooth things over in a difficult year for the Cardinals. He ends the campaign with a .248/.307/.399 slash line, 13 home runs, 27 steals in 31 attempts, 47 RBI and 69 runs scored across 137 contests.

Ronny Mauricio SS | NYM
Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Logs seventh steal
Mauricio went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's 9-1 loss to the Phillies.
Mauricio had one of the Mets' two hits in the game. He slashed .248/.296/.347 with two home runs, seven steals, nine RBI and 11 runs scored across his first 26 major-league games. The infield prospect will likely have a chance to win a starting role for 2024 during spring training after holding his own over his first month in the majors.

Bryson Stott 2B | PHI
Phillies' Bryson Stott: On base four times Sunday
Stott went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, one RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 9-1 win over the Mets.
Stott had gone 4-for-34 over a nine-game stretch without a multi-hit effort before putting the slump to rest in the regular-season finale. This season was a breakout year for the second baseman. He posted a .280/.329/.419 slash line with 15 home runs, 62 RBI, 78 runs scored and 31 stolen bases over 151 games, and he should be the starter at the keystone for the Phillies in the playoffs.

Jonathan India 2B | KC
Reds' Jonathan India: Not in Sunday's lineup
India is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
India is 7-for-18 with three doubles and a homer over his past five games, but he'll head to the bench for Sunday's series finale. The 26-year-old enjoyed a modest rebound in 2023 with 17 homers, 14 steals, 61 RBI and a .745 OPS in 119 games.

Luis Garcia 1B | NYY
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Sitting out finale
Garcia is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
Garcia started the past 13 games but will head to the bench for Sunday's series finale. The 24-year-old posted a .404/.440/.702 slash line during that stretch, which boosted his season-long OPS to .686 to go along with nine homers, nine steals, 50 RBI and 60 runs in 480 plate appearances.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Moves to injured list
Hoerner was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a left knee contusion, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
The 26-year-old suffered the injury during Friday's loss to the Brewers and will shift to the injured list after the Cubs were eliminated from playoff contention Saturday. It doesn't seem to be a serious injury, so Hoerner should have a relatively normal offseason. He closes 2023 with a .283/.346/.383 slash line, nine homers, 43 steals, 68 RBI and 98 runs in 150 games.
-
Andres Gimenez SS | TOR
Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Resting in finale
Gimenez is not in Sunday's lineup against the Tigers.
Gimenez hit .333 with three home runs and eight steals in September. Jose Tena gets the start at the keystone, hitting ninth.
-
Luis Arraez 2B | PHI
Marlins' Luis Arraez: Sitting again Sunday
Arraez (ankle) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Arraez made an appearance off the bench Friday but will be absent from the starting nine for the seventh consecutive game due to an ankle sprain. The Marlins have already secured their spot in the playoffs and are likely hoping the All-Star second baseman will be available for Game 1 of the NL Wild Card Series on Tuesday.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Resting in finale
Torres is not in Sunday's lineup against the Royals.
Torres, who put together his best season since his juiced-ball inflated 2019 campaign, will make way for some less accomplished infielders in the final game of the season. He hit .273 with 25 home runs and 13 steals in 158 games.
