  • Brice Turang 2B | MIL

Brewers' Brice Turang: Hits bench versus lefty

Turang isn't in the Brewers' lineup Saturday against Miami.

Lefty Jesus Luzardo will start on the bump for the Marlins on Saturday, so the left-handed bat of Turang will stay put in the Brewers' dugout. Andruw Monasterio will fill in at second base and bat eighth while Turang sits.

  • Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM

Twins' Jorge Polanco: Rests after clinching playoffs

Polanco will be on the bench for Saturday's game against the Angels, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

The Twins made a large number of changes after celebrating their playoff-clinching win Friday night. Edouard Julien will start at second base Saturday.

  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Sitting against lefty

Stott isn't in the Phillies' lineup Saturday against the Mets.

Left-hander Jose Quintana will start on the mound for New York, so the lefty-hitting Stott will retreat to the bench for the beginning of the game. Rodolfo Castro will start at the keystone and bat ninth.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: Sitting out Saturday

Kemp (ankle) isn't in the Athletics' lineup Saturday against the Tigers.

Kemp had to make an early exit from Friday's contest after suffering a right ankle sprain in the sixth inning, and the injury will keep him out of Saturday's game as well. Esteury Ruiz will start in left field in Kemp's place and bat ninth.

  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

White Sox's Elvis Andrus: Heads to bench

Andrus will sit Saturday against the Red Sox.

Andrus has hit well down the stretch, slashing .347/.368/.521 over his last 33 games. He finds himself on the bench for the second time in three games, however, with the White Sox seemingly seeing no reason to give everyday at-bats to a 35-year-old on an expiring contract in a season that's long since gone off track. Lenyn Sosa will be Saturday's second baseman.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Placed on IL

The Rays placed Lowe on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a fractured right patella, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

After fouling a ball off his knee Thursday, Lowe is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks as a result of his injury, making a return this season unlikely even if the Rays advance to the World Series. Raimel Tapia will come up from Triple-A Durham to fill Lowe's roster spot.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

Giants' Thairo Estrada: Goes yard in win

Estrada went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-1 win over the Dodgers.

Despite the Giants' recent struggles on offense, Estrada has gone 22-for-78 (.282) with three homers, seven RBI and three stolen bases over 20 games in September, and the second baseman padded the lead with a sixth-inning solo shot Friday. He's up to 13 long balls, 48 RBI, 62 runs scored, 22 stolen bases and a .276/.320/.425 slash line through 112 contests this season.

  • Ha-seong Kim 2B | ATL

Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Hits double in return

Kim (abdomen) went 1-for-4 with a double in Friday's 4-2 win over the Cardinals.

Kim had missed four games with abdominal discomfort. The infielder has had a rough September, going 10-for-58 (.172) over 15 contests. His struggles have caused his season slash line to sag to .265/.356/.408 with 17 home runs, 36 stolen bases, 58 RBI, 81 runs scored and 21 doubles through 144 games.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Diagnosed with fractured kneecap

Lowe will be sidelined 4-6 weeks after being diagnosed Friday with a fractured right kneecap, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Suns reports.

Lowe suffered the injury when he fouled a ball off his knee Thursday against the Blue Jays. He's done for the remainder of the regular season and seems doubtful to return for the postseason, even if the Rays make a run all the way to the World Series. The power-hitting second baseman finishes with a .231/.328/.443 slash line, 21 home runs and 68 RBI across 109 games.

  • Ha-seong Kim 2B | ATL

Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Returns to lineup Friday

Kim (abdomen) is back in the lineup Friday against the Cardinals.

Kim will start at second base and bat sixth versus the Cardinals and right-hander Dakota Hudson after missing four straight games due to abdominal discomfort. The 27-year-old has tallied 17 home runs and 36 stolen bases through 143 games (583 plate appearances) this season with San Diego.
