Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL
Twins' Kyle Farmer: Exits with sore hand
Farmer left Sunday's 3-2 win over Houston in the sixth inning after getting hit by a pitch on his index finger in the fourth inning, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
X-rays administered after the game didn't show any fractures, so Farmer is likely just managing a sore or bruised finger. He went 0-for-2 with a pair of strikeouts Sunday before departing, dropping his batting line to .192/.295/.269 over 149 plate appearances on the season. Farmer has largely served as a short-side platoon player in the Twins infield this season, seeing most of his starts against left-handed pitching.

Nick Gonzales 3B | PIT
Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Drives in pair
Gonzales went 1-for-4 with two RBI on Sunday against the Mets.
Gonzales delivered a two-RBI single with the bases loaded in the eighth inning, accounting for Pittsburgh's only runs of the game. He's slowed since a very hot start to his stint in the majors this season, maintaining just a .227 average with eight RBI and nine runs scored in the last month. Nevertheless, he remains a key part of the Pirates' lineup and has not seen his playing time suffer.

Colt Keith 3B | DET
Tigers' Colt Keith: Tallies two hits, swipes base
Keith went 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Reds. He also stole a base.
Keith extended his hitting streak to five games, and he's gone 9-for-21 during the stretch with three home runs and a stolen base. The 22-year-old is starting to settle in at the MLB level offensively, plus he's running a bit more than anticipated, as he never stole more than four bases in a season during his time in the minors. Keith is still known more for his power than his speed, but any contribution in the steals category is a welcome bonus.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Still sitting Sunday
Torres (groin) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
Torres departed from Friday's matchup with Boston due to right groin soreness and will sit Sunday for the second consecutive game. He'll also have Monday's team off day to rest up ahead of Tuesday's series opener in Tampa Bay. Oswaldo Cabrera will start at the keystone and bat seventh in the series finale versus the Red Sox.

Tommy Edman LF | LAD
Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Beginning rehab assignment Tuesday
Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol confirmed Sunday that Edman (wrist) remains on track to begin his minor-league rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield on Tuesday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
Edman's surgically repaired right wrist apparently responded well to batting practice sessions in Springfield on Friday and Saturday, with the latter being a live session against rehabbing right-hander Riley O'Brien (forearm). Unless Edman experiences another setback with his wrist in the next day, he'll see his first game action of the season Tuesday. Edman will presumably remain on his rehab assignment throughout the week before the Cardinals reassess his status coming out of the All-Star break.

Gavin Lux SS | TB
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: On bench vs. lefty
Lux is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Lux is hitless in 17 at-bats over his past six games and will head to the bench Sunday after making 10 straight starts. Chris Taylor will move to second base while Enrique Hernandez starts at the hot corner against Milwaukee lefty Dallas Keuchel.

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Remaining on bench Sunday
Marte (back) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.
Marte was removed from Friday's contest due to lower-back tightness and will sit Sunday for the second consecutive game. The 30-year-old was reportedly available off the bench Saturday but didn't see the field, so he'll presumably be available again Sunday. Kevin Newman is manning the keystone in place of Marte.
-
Brendan Rodgers 2B | BOS
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Out of Sunday's lineup
Rodgers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.
Rodgers is hitting .348 in July but will sit Sunday after starting the previous six games. Aaron Schunk will start at the keystone and bat ninth in the series finale versus Kansas City while Rodgers receives a routine day of rest.

Jonathan Ornelas SS | ATL
Rangers' Jonathan Ornelas: Returning to bench role
Ornelas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.
Ornelas will hit the bench after he started in each of the last three games, with the last two coming at third base while Josh Smith (glute) was out of the lineup. With Smith returning to his usual post at the hot corner for Sunday's series finale, however, Ornelas looks poised to see light usage moving forward as a utility infielder.
