  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Receiving Monday off

Hoerner is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers.

Hoerner will receive a breather after he started the past seven games while going 11-for-28 (.393 average) with six runs, five RBI and six stolen bases during that stretch. Jon Berti will spell Hoerner at second base and will bat eighth.

  • Edouard Julien 2B | COL

Twins' Edouard Julien: Goes to bench Monday

Julien is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.

The left-handed-hitting Julien had started in each of the Twins' last five games -- all against right-handed pitchers -- but he went just 3-for-14 with one walk against four strikeouts during that span. Julien will head to the bench Monday even as the Royals send a right-hander (Michael Lorenzen) to the mound, opening up a starting spot in the infield for Jose Miranda.

  • Brett Baty 3B | NYM

Mets' Brett Baty: Giving way to Acuna at keystone

Baty is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins.

Baty looked to be holding down the strong side of a platoon at second base with Luisangel Acuna while Jeff McNeil (oblique) is on the shelf, but Baty has now hit the bench in three of the Mets' last six matchups with right-handed pitchers. Manager Carlos Mendoza may just be looking to keep both young hitters involved while the Mets are in the midst of a long stretch of facing right-handers, but Baty hasn't helped his case for seeing the majority of the playing time at the keystone either. He enters Monday's contest having gone just 2-for-21 (.095 average) with no walks and eight strikeouts through the Mets' first nine games of the season.

  • Red Sox's Kristian Campbell: First day off Monday

Campbell is absent from the lineup for Monday's contest against the Blue Jays.

Campbell had started each of the Red Sox's first 10 games this season, including both legs of a doubleheader Sunday, so he will receive a well-earned day off Monday. David Hamilton is handling second base in the series opener versus Toronto.

  • Jared Triolo 3B | PIT

Pirates' Jared Triolo: Lands on IL with back injury

The Pirates placed Triolo on the 10-day injured list Monday with a lumbar spine strain, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

The team had viewed Triolo as day-to-day, but the injury is apparently now considered significant enough to keep him out at least until mid-April. Triolo has started half of the Pirates' 10 games so far, bouncing around between second base, first base and third base. Tsung-Che Cheng was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to replace Triolo on the active roster.

  • Peyton Stovall 2B | CIN

Reds' Peyton Stovall: Nursing hamstring injury

Stovall was held back in extended spring training due to a hamstring injury and will be assigned to High-A Dayton when cleared, Jonathan Mayo of MLB Pipeline reports.

Stovall is a bat-first second baseman that Cincinnati selected in the fourth round last year. He played briefly at Single-A after signing, and while he walked more than he struck out, he slugged .333 with zero home runs in 16 games.

  • Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Doubles twice in loss

Donovan went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, a run scored and a walk in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against Boston. He went 1-for-2 with a run scored in Game 1.

Donovan did not start the first game of the doubleheader but subbed in and collected a hit. He made a much bigger impact in Game 2, knocking RBI doubles in the first and ninth innings, though it wasn't enough to match Boston's 18-run outburst. Donovan has produced three multi-hit performances this season and is now slashing .333/.375/.556 with four extra-base hits and eight RBI through nine games.

  • Kyren Paris SS | LAA

Angels' Kyren Paris: Goes deep, swipes bag

Paris went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, two runs scored and a stolen base in Sunday's win over Cleveland.

Paris singled, swiped second base and came around to score in the second inning. He later gave the Angels an insurance run with his solo shot in the eighth. Paris has gone 8-for-18 (.444) with two home runs and four steals through eight games to begin the season. Paris has played center field and second base in 2025 and should continue seeing consistent playing time as long as his bat stays effective.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Stays locked in Sunday

Hoerner went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 8-7 loss to the Padres. He also stole two bases.

Hoerner has been reaching base frequently these days, and when he gets on, he seems to have a green light to run. The infielder is 10-for-24 over his last six games with six stolen bases. Hoerner doesn't hit for much power, but he's been a positive contributor for fantasy managers in terms of batting average and steals.

  • Brice Turang 2B | MIL

Brewers' Brice Turang: Extends hit streak in win

Turang went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Reds.

Turang was able to launch a ground-rule double over the head of Gavin Lux in the bottom of the third inning, later coming around to score on a single from Christian Yelich. The second baseman also added a single and another run scored in the following frame. Turang now owns a 10-game hit streak to open the 2025 campaign, batting .325 with two home runs, six RBI, 10 runs scored and two stolen bases to this point.
