Gabriel Arias SS | CLE
Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Taking seat Saturday
Arias isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Arias will get a chance to rest Saturday after going 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored during Friday's series opener. While he sits, Daniel Schneemann will take over at the keystone and bat eighth.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Tigers' Gleyber Torres: Idle Saturday
Torres isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals.
Torres will grab a seat on the bench Saturday after going 3-for-10 with a run scored and a stolen base over the first two games of the series. His absence will put Colt Keith at second base and open a spot in the lineup for Javier Baez to start at the hot corner while batting eighth.

Gabriel Arias SS | CLE
Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Starts at shortstop
Arias started at shortstop and went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 10-7 win over the Pirates.
Arias, who's been the primary second baseman to open the season, hasn't played there for the last three games -- he started at shortstop (twice) and third base (once). Given Arias' recent hot stretch (10-for-26, three home runs, eight RBI over seven games), Guardians manager Stephen Vogt will likely make it a priority to keep Arias' bat in the lineup somewhere.

Caleb Durbin 3B | MIL
Brewers' Caleb Durbin: Two knocks in debut
Durbin went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Friday's 5-3 win over the Athletics.
This was Durbin's major-league debut, and he batted ninth while starting at third base. The 25-year-old prospect has a chance to get a long look at the hot corner given the Brewers' lack of other viable options there. At Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2024, he logged 29 steals on 32 attempts while slashing .287/.396/.471 over 82 games. Durbin should be able to carve out some fantasy value in NL-only leagues at a minimum if he can be steady at the plate and swift on the basepaths during his first stint in the majors.

Brice Turang 2B | MIL
Brewers' Brice Turang: Scores three times Friday
Turang went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and three runs scored in Friday's 5-3 win over the Athletics.
Turang bounced back from an 0-for-4 effort Wednesday versus the Tigers, which was just his second hitless effort of the year. The speedy second baseman has swiped three bags over his last five games. He's up to a .313/.349/.438 slash line with five steals, three home runs, 10 RBI and 20 runs scored over 20 contests as the Brewers' main leadoff hitter.

Jake Cronenworth 1B | SD
Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Aiming to beat return timeframe
Cronenworth (ribs) took groundballs, worked on change of direction, played catch and took dry swings Friday, and he's optimistic that he can return ahead of his initial 4-to-6 week return timeframe, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Cronenworth landed on the IL on April 11 due to a non-displaced right rib fracture. Though such an injury typically takes 4-to-6 weeks to heal, it's possible that the veteran infielder could return before the fracture totally heals, and Padres manager Mike Shildt suggested Friday that such a scenario would be dependent on Cronenworth's pain tolerance. While he hopes to be back in the Padres' lineup in less than four weeks, Cronenworth also noted that there is uncertainty about his ability to do so, explaining, "It's hard to say, because it's like, I don't know what's gonna have an adverse reaction yet ... we're kind of going until that happens. ... It's like, let's just keep progressing as we're progressing, and see where it ends."

Brett Baty 3B | NYM
Mets' Brett Baty: Coming alive during hitting streak
Baty went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored in Friday's win over the Cardinals.
After walking to lead off the third inning and promptly stealing second base, Baty later jump-started New York's two-run fifth frame with a leadoff double on a sharp line drive to right field. The 2019 first-rounder is getting opportunities at second base while Jeff McNeil (oblique) is on the injured list, and Baty is starting to come alive at the plate following a 3-for-27 start. During his current five-game hitting streak, he's batting .368 (7-for-19) with two RBI, two doubles, three runs scored and one stolen base.

Brendan Donovan 2B | STL
Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Extends hitting streak to 14 games
Donovan went 2-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored in Friday's loss to the Mets.
Late in Friday's back-and-forth affair, Donovan launched a solo shot off the right-field foul pole to tie the game at 4-4 in the ninth inning. Friday also extended Donovan's hitting streak to 14 games, during which the utility man is batting .463 (25-for-54) with two homers, six doubles, 10 RBI and 10 runs scored. Among qualifiers, Donovan leads the National League with a .380 batting average over 20 games (79 at-bats) on the young campaign.

Matt McLain SS | CIN
Reds' Matt McLain: Smacks three-run homer
McLain went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer and an additional run scored in Friday's 8-3 win over the Orioles.
McLain belted a three-run homer off Cade Povich in the fourth inning, and the former came across home plate for an additional run in the sixth inning on an infield single by Austin Hays. It was McLain's fourth home run of the season and first since March 31 against the Rangers. He's slashing .205/.340/.538 with seven walks, two stolen bases, 11 runs scored and nine RBI across 47 plate appearances this season.

Willi Castro RF | CHC
Twins' Willi Castro: Not starting Friday
Castro (oblique) is not in the Twins' starting lineup against Atlanta on Friday.
Castro exited Wednesday's game against the Mets due to tightness in his right oblique, and he'll be held out of Friday's lineup while working through the injury. Edouard Julien and Brooks Lee will start at second and third base, respectively, against Atlanta right-hander Bryce Elder.
