The Astros recalled Whitcomb from Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Four days after being optioned to Triple-A, Whitcomb will rejoin the big-league roster to replace Brendan Rodgers, who landed on the IL with a strained oblique. Whitcomb appeared in four games and went 0-for-7 during his first stint with the Astros this season, and he'll likely remain a bench bat for the big club this time around.

Sosa is not in the White Sox's starting lineup against the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Sosa returned from the 10-day injured list Tuesday and went 1-for-3 with a double. He'll be on the bench for the beginning of Wednesday's game while Josh Rojas starts at second base and bats ninth.

Moore is not in the lineup for Wednesday's tilt versus the Yankees, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Moore has gone 1-for-13 with five strikeouts to kick off his major-league career, and Wednesday marks the second time in six games that he'll be absent from the lineup. Scott Kingery will cover second base and bat eighth for the Angels on Wednesday.

Frazier is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.

The lefty-hitting Frazier had started in seven of the Pirates' previous eight games, but he'll be shielded Wednesday from arguably the game's top lefty in Tarik Skubal. Tommy Pham will replace Frazier in left field and bat eighth.

Keith is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Keith will hit the bench for the third consecutive game, with the Tigers having faced left-handed starting pitchers in each of those contests. The 23-year-old has been getting steady playing time versus right-handed pitching of late at either designated hitter or in the corner infield, though Keith could be at risk of sitting more frequently in those matchups once Matt Vierling (shoulder) returns from the injured list.

LeMahieu is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

LeMahieu went hitless in the first two games of the series and has gone just 1-for-14 over his last six contests. Oswald Peraza will fill in at second base and bat ninth for the Yankees on Wednesday while LeMahieu rests.

Estrada (hand) is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

Estrada exited Tuesday's win after being hit in the right hand by a pitch. X-rays came back clean, but Estrada is likely sore and will be given at least one day of rest. Kyle Farmer will start at the keystone and bat second for the Rockies.

Young is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Though he will hit the bench while the Red Sox send star southpaw Garrett Crochet to the mound, the lefty-hitting Young appears to have built up some job security as the Mariners' top second baseman against right-handed pitching. The rookie has slashed .379/.419/.483 with four runs and four RBI over his previous eight starts.

Hamilton will start at second base and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Mariners, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Hamilton will pick up his third consecutive start at the keystone and has been an early beneficiary of Sunday's trade that sent Rafael Devers to San Francisco. His playing time could begin to dry up by the weekend, however, as the Red Sox are preparing to welcome another everyday player in Wilyer Abreu (oblique) from the injured list. Abreu's return will create a logjam in the outfield that could result in Roman Anthony seeing more starts at designated hitter and Kristian Campbell moving back to second base.

Estrada went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 10-6 win over the Nationals, but he was removed from the game with a right hand contusion after being hit by a pitch in the seventh inning, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

The second baseman took Michael Soroka deep in the second inning, Estrada's first homer of the season and the first of seven for the Rockies to tie a franchise record. Colorado held a 7-1 lead when he was replaced by pinch runner Orlando Arcia, and X-rays taken after the game came back negative, but the team is likely to be cautious with Estrada given that he missed the first two months of the season with a fractured right wrist.
