  • Matt McLain 2B | CIN

Reds' Matt McLain: Heading to bench for series finale

McLain is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.

Spencer Steer and Edwin Arroyo will serve as the Reds' starters in the middle infield while McLain gets a breather in the series finale. McLain had started 13 straight games, slashing .233/.365/.512 with three home runs, four stolen bases, four RBI and eight runs during that stretch.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Managing tight groin

Orioles manager Craig Albernaz said that Holliday was removed in the bottom of the eighth inning of Saturday's 3-2 win over the Dodgers due to groin tightness, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. Holliday went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts prior to his departure.

Albernaz said that he pulled Holliday from the game because he didn't want the groin issue to worsen, but the skipper didn't provide a firm indication whether he expects the infielder to miss additional time. Jeremiah Jackson came off the bench to replace Holliday in the field Saturday, and Jackson and Blaze Alexander would represent the main candidates to pick up playing time at the keystone if Holliday requires a stint on the IL.

  • Luke Keaschall 2B | MIN

Twins' Luke Keaschall: Scores thrice in win

Keaschall went 3-for-6 with three runs scored in Saturday's 16-8 win over the Diamondbacks.

Keaschall was limited to singles in this contest, but he was one of four Twins to log at least three hits. The second baseman has gone 14-for-38 (.368) over his last 11 contests, though just three of those hits have gone for extra-bases. On the year, he's batting .259 with a .677 OPS, two home runs, 24 RBI, 38 runs scored, 12 doubles, one triple and 11 stolen bases over 72 contests.

  • Travis Bazzana 2B | CLE

Guardians' Travis Bazzana: Explodes for two homers, five RBI

Bazzana went 4-for-4 with two home runs, three total runs and five total RBI in an 8-1 win against the Astros on Saturday.

Bazzana didn't take long to set the tone for his big performance, belting the first pitch of the game from Spencer Arrighetti over the outfield wall for a home run. The talented rookie added a three-run blast in the fifth inning to notch the first multi-homer game of his career. Bazzana also logged four hits for the first time as a big leaguer and racked up a career-best five RBI. He had been batting just .182 through 15 games in June entering Saturday, but Bazzana has nonetheless had a strong beginning to his major-league career, slashing .274/.369/.476 with seven homers, 11 doubles, 23 RBI, 22 runs and 11 stolen bases through 46 contests.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Posts 11th career multi-homer game

Albies went 3-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and an additional run scored in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Brewers.

Albies recorded the 11th multi-homer game of his career and his first of the season, highlighted Saturday by a walk-off, two-run shot. After posting a career-low .671 OPS over 667 regular-season plate appearances in 2025, the 29-year-old second baseman is returning to form in 2026. Through 322 trips to the plate, Albies is batting .284 with 12 long balls, 13 doubles, 40 RBI and 50 runs scored.

  • Red Sox's Anthony Seigler: Recalled from Worcester

The Red Sox recalled Seigler from Triple-A Worcester on Saturday.

With Isiah Kiner-Falefa on the injured list due to forearm inflammation, Seigler will rejoin the big club to help bolster Boston's infield depth. The 27-year-old has spent the vast majority of the season at Triple-A, slashing .289/.405/.437 with three homers, 23 RBI and 18 runs scored through 163 plate appearances. He could make an occasional start while the Red Sox are without Kiner-Falefa and Nick Sogard (oblique), though Andruw Monasterio is likely the frontrunner for regular playing time.

  • Red Sox's Isiah Kiner-Falefa: Lands on injured list

The Red Sox placed Kiner-Falefa on the 10-day injured list Saturday, retroactive to Friday, with left forearm inflammation, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Kiner-Falefa was a late scratch from the lineup before Friday's game, and his forearm will now force him to remain sidelined until at least June 29. Andruw Monasterio is a likely candidate to pick up extra starts in the infield while Kiner-Falefa is out, and Anthony Seigler will come up from Triple-A Worcester to add to Boston's infield depth.

  • Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA

Marlins' Xavier Edwards: Back in lineup

Edwards (thumb) will start at second base and bat fourth Saturday against the Giants.

Thumb soreness prevented Edwards from starting Friday's contest, but he seems to be feeling better after getting a day to rest. The 26-year-old has struggled since the beginning of June, slashing .192/.286/.192 with six RBI, two runs and three steals across 63 plate appearances.

  • Ernie Clement 2B | TOR

Blue Jays' Ernie Clement: Idle Saturday

Clement (hip) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs.

Clement will miss a second consecutive start Saturday due to hip soreness. The 30-year-old had been playing through his injury for a while prior to sitting out Friday's game, though he may have to spend time on the injured list if he doesn't rejoin the lineup within the next couple of days. Davis Schneider will start at second base and bat seventh Saturday.

  • Chase Meidroth 2B | CHW

White Sox's Chase Meidroth: Getting rest Saturday

Meidroth isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.

The White Sox will give Meidroth a break Saturday after he went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts during a loss in Friday's series opener. Sam Antonacci will shift to second base, opening up left field for Randal Grichuk.
