Chavis (shoulder) started at first base and went 0-for-3 for Triple-A Pawtucket on Friday.

Chavis kicked off his rehab assignment Friday and will remain with the PawSox through the weekend, per Ian Browne of MLB.com. There's a chance he could join the Red Sox in Colorado on Tuesday for their upcoming series with the Rockies. Chavis has been sidelined with a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder since Aug. 12.

Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with his first career grand slam and a second run scored in Friday's 9-6 win over the Twins.

His sixth-inning blast effectively chased Jose Berrios from the game and gave the Tigers a lead they wouldn't relinquish. Rodriguez is red hot right now, starting six straight games and slashing .364/.417/.773 with three homers and six RBI, and with Niko Goodrum (groin) landing on the injured list Friday, there should be plenty of playing time available for the 27-year-old moving forward.

Torres went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 10-2 win over the Dodgers.

Torres took Dodgers reliever Yimi Garcia deep in the sixth inning for his only hit of the night. He also struck out twice, reaching 100 whiffs this season. Torres remains hot, having gone 13-for-40 with six homers, seven RBI and 10 runs scored across his last 10 games. For the year, the second baseman is hitting .287/.350/.551 with 32 homers, 76 RBI and 84 runs scored in 118 games.

Chavis (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket on Friday.

Chavis gained clearance to resume swinging earlier in the week, and the team feels confident that he's ready to return to game action. He's been sidelined since Aug. 12 due to a sprained AC joint, and he's unlikely to require more than a few games in the minors before being reinstated.

The Mets are unsure if they will activate McNeil (hamstring) on Saturday, when he is eligible to come off the 10-day injured list, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.

He will play seven innings for short-season Brooklyn on Friday, getting time at third base and in the outfield. It sounds like McNeil could come off the injured list any day after Friday, depending on how his hamstring responds. The fact he is going to play some third base suggests he could displace Todd Frazier at the hot corner when activated.

Lowe (quadriceps) was transferred to 60-day injured list Friday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Lowe was confirmed to be done for the season by manager Kevin Cash on Thursday, so the move to the 60-day IL is simply procedural. The 25-year-old was on a rehab assignment and nearing his return to the majors before suffering a left quadriceps strain earlier this week.

Frazier went 1-for-4 with a solo shot, his seventh homer of the season, in Thursday's 7-1 loss to the Nationals.

Since boosting his batting average to .287 at the All-Star break, Frazier has slashed .205/.281/.320 with three home runs and no stolen bases in 135 plate appearances. Interestingly, he's gone 5-for-13 with three doubles and a homer in his career against Max Scherzer. Unfortunately, his struggles continue against the rest of the league.

Torres went 4-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs and a double in a loss to Oakland on Thursday.

Torres provided half of New York's hits in the loss including solo homers in the seventh and ninth innings. He now has 31 long balls this year, joining Joe DiMaggio as the only Yankees to hit 30 home runs in a single season by the age of 22. Eleven of those homers have come in August, tops in the American League.

Andrus went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 6-1 loss to the White Sox.

Andrus got Texas on the board by crushing a 430-foot homer off Ross Detwiler in the fourth inning, but unfortunately the Rangers' bats fell silent the rest of the way. Through 116 games, Andrus has 10 home runs and leads Texas in batting average (.282), hits (134) and stolen bases (25).

Drury is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Dodgers.

Though Drury does not have a set spot on the diamond, he's been playing close to every day lately with Lourdes Gurriel (quad) on the injured list. Prior to this absence, Drury had started eight out of the last nine games for Toronto, logging reps at first base, third base, second base, left field and designated hitter over that stretch. He's still struggling to get on base at a good clip, but he's slugging .457 since the All-Star break, up from .383 in the first half.
