Joseph was designated for assignment by the Giants on Saturday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Joseph's tenure with San Francisco lasted a little over a week; he was claimed off waivers from Oakland on Sept. 3. He logged 16 at-bats across eight games, managed one hit while striking out six times. The 30-year-old will now take another spin through waivers.

Rengifo is not in Saturday's lineup against the Rays.

He is 7-for-31 (.226) with one home run and one steal in 10 games this month. David Fletcher starts at second base and will hit second.

Adames was called up from Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

After being released by the Cubs in July, Adames joined the Giants on a minor-league deal and went on to hit .283/.364/.517 in 43 regular-season games with Sacramento. He also helped secure the team's first Pacific Coast League title in 11 years. The 28-year-old will provide middle-infield depth over the final couple weeks.

Polanco went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Indians.

Polanco provided the only runs of the game with his 391-foot blast off Mike Clevinger in the third inning. The 26-year-old has been hot over the past month, going 35-for-107 (.327) with five home runs since Aug. 15. He now sports a .298/.360/.492 slash line with 76 RBI over 583 at-bats this season.

Forsythe (ribs) is not in Saturday's lineup against the A's.

He has been out for almost a week with left intercostal tightness. Forsythe likely would have been placed on the injured list were it not for expanded rosters, so it's unclear if he is day-to-day or a little worse than that.

Semien went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run, a walk and two runs overall in a win over the Rangers on Friday.

Semien put a 414-foot exclamation point on the Athletics' 14-run barrage with his ninth-inning blast, which came with Sheldon Neuse aboard and qualified as Semien's career-best 29th homer. The 28-year-old is saving his best for last in what has already been a breakout season, with Friday's production pushing his September average to .375 (18-for-48) with four doubles, one triple, four home runs, 10 RBI, five walks, three stolen bases and 15 runs.

Rodriguez is not in Saturday's lineup against the Orioles.

He is hitting just .100 with 11 strikeouts in 30 at-bats this month. Harold Castro is starting at second base and batting second.

Biggio is not in Saturday's lineup against the Yankees, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet 590 The Fan reports.

He is hitting .290/.450/.516 with one home run and two steals in nine games this month. Brandon Drury gets the start at second base and will hit seventh.

Frazier will bat fifth and start at second base Saturday against the Cubs.

Due in part to injuries to Starling Marte and Josh Bell, Frazier will hit fifth for the first time in 2019 and third time in his career. He has four hits, including a double and a homer, in 10 career at-bats against starter Kyle Hendricks. Since Aug. 20, the second baseman is slashing .373/.409/.614 in 90 plate appearances.

Hoerner went 2-for-5 with a walk, a two-run home run, two runs scored and four total RBI in Friday's 18-7 win over the Pirates.

Hoerner connected off Pittsburgh starter Steven Brault in the first inning for his first career MLB home run. The 22-year-old shortstop, who is one of the top prospects in the Cubs' system, has shined since his MLB debut Monday. In five games, he's slashing .350/.435/.600, and with Javier Baez (thumb) and Addison Russell (head) both out, Hoerner should continue to see regular playing time.
