Rodgers went 2-for-3 with a double Wednesday against the Rangers.

Rodgers continued his productive homestand, as he now has seven hits in 21 at-bats across five games. Though he hasn't gone yard in that span, he does have three doubles and two RBI. The majority of Rodgers' production has come at Coors Field, but he has a 101 wRC+ and .334 wOBA across 480 plate appearances overall for the campaign.

Hoerner went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Cardinals.

Hoerner was mired in an 0-for-25 slump entering Wednesday, though this was also his fourth three-hit effort in August. All told, the shortstop is batting .278 this month and .291 for the season. The 0-for-25 stretch seems like an outlier for Hoerner, who has shown a good ability to hit for contact early in his MLB career. The 25-year-old should continue to see regular playing time for the Cubs and could be primed for a big stretch run if he can string together a few more multi-hit games.

Mathias went 2-for-5 with a double, three RBI and one run scored Wednesday against the Rockies.

Mathias made only his second start since being recalled by the Rangers on Aug. 15, but he's made a good impression by collecting three hits in eight at-bats. Even so, there's no clear path to playing time for Mathias, unless the team opts to decrease Ezequiel Duran's opportunity at third base.

Lux (neck) isn't starting Wednesday against the Brewers, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.

Lux was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to a neck injury and will be out of the starting nine for a second consecutive game. Whether he's available off the bench remains to be seen, but he'll have an additional day to recover since the Dodgers have a scheduled day off Thursday. Max Muncy is shifting to second base while Justin Turner starts at the hot corner Wednesday.

Espinal is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Espinal will sit for the second game in a row, despite having put together a respectable .286/.348/.405 slash line in August. With the Blue Jays prioritizing defense in the outfield of late by handing Jackie Bradley more work in center while the banged-up George Springer serves as the team's designated hitter, Espinal is now threatened by both Whit Merrifield and Cavan Biggio for playing time at second base. After Biggio received the starting nod at the keystone Tuesday, Merrifield will get a turn at the position Wednesday.

Arroyo is not in the starting lineup Wednesday versus the Blue Jays due to an apparent leg injury suffered in Tuesday's 9-3 loss, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

Though he played all nine innings while going 1-for-4 with a double and a run in Tuesday's 9-3 loss to Toronto, Arroyo appeared to hurt himself while sliding into first base in one of his plate appearances. The fact that Arroyo isn't starting at shortstop Wednesday despite Xander Bogaerts (back) also sitting out would seem to support the notion that Arroyo is banged up. With Arroyo and Bogaerts on the bench and Enrique Hernandez filling in at Arroyo's usual spot at second base, the Red Sox are without a natural shortstop, so corner infielder Bobby Dalbec will make his first career start at the position.

Mariners manager Scott Servais said that Haggerty (shoulder), who remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals, is feeling good after swinging in the batting cage Tuesday with a fungo bat, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Though he's not starting for the fourth game in a row while managing a sore left shoulder, Haggerty is available off the bench Wednesday. Servais suggested that Haggerty could be an option as a pinch hitter, after the 28-year-old's most recent appearance since sustaining the shoulder injury came as a pinch runner in Sunday's loss to the Athletics.

Altuve went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored Tuesday against the Twins.

Altuve was back in the lineup after missing Sunday's game due to a shoulder injury. He led off the seventh inning with a double and came around to score on a two-run homer by Alex Bregman. Altuve has remained a consistent producer, maintaining a .301 average with a homer, seven RBI, 12 runs scored and three stolen bases across 20 games in August.

Gimenez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

The Guardians and Padres are playing a day game after a night game and San Diego is starting southpaw Blake Snell, so Cleveland manager Terry Francona likely viewed Wednesday as an opportune time to give the lefty-hitting Gimenez a breather. Rookie Tyler Freeman will spell the All-Star at the keystone.

Frazier is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

Though a right-hander (Anibal Sanchez) is taking the hill, the lefty-hitting Frazier will get a breather for the day game after a night game. Manager Scott Servais initially planned on resting Frazier on Sunday, but he went on to start his sixth straight game that day -- and a seventh straight in Tuesday's series opener -- due to Sam Haggerty's (shoulder) ongoing absence. Haggerty remains out of the lineup Wednesday, so Dylan Moore will step in for Frazier at the keystone.
