  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Sits against lefty

Frazier is not in the lineup Saturday against the Mets.

Kevin Newman will slide over to second base as Jung Ho Kang gets the start at shortstop and will bat seventh against left-hander Steven Matz. Frazier is slashing .273/.326/.398 against left-handed pitching this season. The second baseman is 6-for-17 with a home run, four runs scored, two RBI and four walks over his last five starts.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Not an option to replace Hernandez

Lux will not be promoted in a corresponding move to Enrique Hernandez (hand) landing on the injured list, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Hernandez won't be placed on the IL until Sunday or Monday, but manager Dave Roberts got out in front of things and nixed the idea of Lux getting the call. The Dodgers' top prospect is hitting .479 with eight home runs and a 17:15 K:BB in 22 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City. He clearly seems ready for more of a challenge, but teams often opt not to start the clock on top prospects at this point in the calendar.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: IL stint inevitable

Hernandez (hand) will be placed on the 10-day injured list either Sunday or Monday, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

He underwent an MRI on Friday which apparently did not yield positive results. Manager Dave Roberts said that top prospect Gavin Lux is not an option to replace Hernandez on the 25-man roster. If the Dodgers elect to bring up an infielder from Triple-A in a corresponding move, Edwin Rios seems like the most likely candidate, given that he is already on the 40-man roster. Max Muncy should continue to start at second base while the Dodgers mix and match at first base.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Out of lineup Saturday

Hernandez (hand) is not in the lineup Saturday against the Nationals.

Hernandez received an MRI on Friday after exiting Wednesday's game with an injured left hand and manager Dave Roberts stated that the utility man was only available as a hitter Friday. While the team awaits the MRI results, Max Muncy continues to make starts at second base against left-handed pitching. Muncy is hitting fifth Saturday against southpaw opener Matt Grace.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Posts three-run blast

McNeil went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in a 6-3 victory against the Pirates on Friday.

He's had a lot of 1-for-4 or 1-for-5 performances since the All-Star break, but McNeil still has hits in 11 of his last 13 games. During that stretch, he has three homers and eight RBI. McNeil is batting .340 with 10 home runs, 44 RBI, 51 runs and four steals in 341 at-bats this season.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Hits fifth homer

Frazier went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 6-3 loss against the Mets on Friday.

His strong July continues, as Frazier is batting .387 this month. Unfortunately, it hasn't led to a whole lot of other production -- two home runs, nine RBI, 15 runs in 20 games. Overall, Frazier is hitting .282 with five homers, 28 RBI, 53 runs and three steals in 355 at-bats this season.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Smacks 25th double

Albies went 1-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a walk Friday night against Philadelphia.

Albies joined the hit parade in the fifth inning, driving an RBI double to right field. He would later tack on an insurance run in the sixth by walking with the bases loaded. Albies is hitting .284 with 14 homers and 53 RBI through 103 contests this year.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Undergoes MRI

Hernandez (hand) underwent an MRI on Friday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Hernandez left Wednesday's matchup with an injured left hand, and although his X-rays came back negative, he'll receive further testing, likely as a precaution. Manager Dave Roberts stated that the utility man would be available to play defense only Friday night, though the team still hadn't received the results of Hernandez's MRI.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Leading off Friday

McNeil (fatigue) is starting in right field and batting leadoff Friday versus the Pirates, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

McNeil was absent from Thursday's lineup due to leg fatigue, but he's good to go after the day of rest. The 27-year-old has a .292/.358/.500 slash line in 12 games since the All-Star break.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Gets good news after X-rays

Manager Dave Roberts said that X-rays conducted on Hernandez's left hand returned negative after the utility man exited Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Angels in the top of the fifth inning, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Hernandez appeared to hurt his hand on a swing during his fourth-inning at-bat. He concluded the plate appearance with a popout before heading to the bench and being replaced in the contest by Matt Beaty. Fortunately for Hernandez, he only appears to be dealing with soreness and is viewed as day-to-day, with Roberts offering no indication that an MRI will be necessary. The Dodgers will have Thursday off before opening a three-game series in Washington this weekend.
