Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Likely out until September
Edman (ankle) will likely remain on the injured list until September, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Edman landed on the injured list Monday with a right ankle sprain, and the Dodgers are going to play it safe by keeping him on the shelf for an extended period of time. The team wants to give him all the time he needs to make a full recovery to ensure he's at 100 percent for the postseason. With Hyeseong Kim (shoulder) also on the IL, Miguel Rojas and Alex Freeland have been seeing time at the keystone for Los Angeles.

Luis Garcia 2B | WAS
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Scratched from lineup
Garcia was scratched from the lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Giants due to back tightness.
Garcia's back injury will force him to watch Friday's contest from the dugout. Jose Tena will enter the starting nine to fill the void at second base and bat eighth.

Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL
Rockies' Thairo Estrada: Done for 2025
The Rockies transferred Estrada (hamstring) to the 60-day injured list Friday.
Estrada strained his right hamstring during Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays. He was placed on the 10-day injured list one day later, and his move to the 60-day IL means Estrada will not play for the rest of the season. He will end the year with a .253/.285/.370 slash line with one steal, nine doubles, three home runs and 21 RBI across 165 plate appearances. Adael Amador and Aaron Schunk figure to see more starts at the keystone with Estrada sidelined.

Marlins' Xavier Edwards: Four hits in Wednesday's win
Edwards went 4-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's win over the Astros.
The switch-hitting infielder set the table for the Marlins in a 6-4 victory, delivering his seventh multi-hit performance in 18 games since the All-Star break. Over that stretch, Edwards is slashing .342/.400/.466 with five doubles, two triples, two steals, five RBI and 14 runs, and he's two pilfers away from reaching 20 for the second straight campaign.

Luis Garcia 2B | WAS
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Receiving night off
Garcia is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.
The left-handed-hitting Garcia will hit the bench Wednesday while southpaw Jeffrey Springs toes the rubber for the Athletics. Garcia had started each of the last six games, going 8-for-26 with a home run, a walk, five RBI and four runs.

Adael Amador SS | COL
Rockies' Adael Amador: Recalled, starting Wednesday
The Rockies recalled Amador from Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.
Amador will join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for Thairo Estrada (hamstring), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. The Rockies will throw Amador into the lineup for Wednesday's series finale versus the Blue Jays, as he'll take over Estrada's usual spot at second base, per Thomas Harding of MLB.com. The 22-year-old could see regular reps at the keystone while Estrada is out, but Amador has managed just a .180/.253/.256 batting line over 148 career plate appearances at the major-league level.

Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL
Rockies' Thairo Estrada: Shut down with hamstring strain
The Rockies placed Estrada on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to a right hamstring strain.
Estrada will head to the IL for the third time this season, after he was previously shut down due to a fractured right wrist and a sprained right thumb. The infielder suffered his latest injury while running out a grounder in Tuesday's 10-4 loss to the Blue Jays and was spotted using crutches to move about the clubhouse after the game, per MLB.com. Colorado recalled Adael Amador from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move, and he'll replace Estrada in the starting nine at second base in Wednesday's series finale with Toronto, according to Thomas Harding of MLB.com.

Luis Garcia 2B | WAS
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Three hits in Tuesday's loss
Garcia went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI in Tuesday's loss to the A's.
The second baseman stayed hot and helped fuel a seven-run outburst by the Nats' offense, although that paled in comparison to the 16 runs surrendered by the pitching staff. Over 15 games since the All-Star break, Garcia is slashing .298/.328/.439 with two doubles, two homers, one steal, seven RBI and eight runs.
