Arraez went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in an Opening Day loss to the Mets.

It was ultimately a disappointing result for the Marlins, but one of their biggest offseason acquisitions performed exactly as advertised in his first game for the club. Arraez hit leadoff in his Miami debut, and after winning the AL batting title last season for Minnesota while scoring 88 runs in 144 games, he should be an effective table-setter in 2023.

Bae went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, two runs scored and two stolen bases in Thursday's 5-4 victory over the Reds.

Bae started the game at second base before ultimately moving to center field in the bottom of the ninth inning as Canaan Smith-Njigba was lifted for a defensive replacement. Although Bae was buried in the eight hole in the order, he was in the middle of every rally for the Pirates and showcased his speed when he got on base. The 23-year-old ranked in the 90th percentile in sprint speed last season according to Statcast.

Donovan went 3-for-6 with a two-run home run and two additional runs scored in Thursday's 10-9 loss to Toronto.

Donovan served as the Cardinals' Opening Day leadoff hitter and did his job setting the table against Alek Manoah and company. He even carried over the newfound pop he showed in spring training -- Donovan smacked four homers in Grapefruit League play, just one fewer than he had in 468 plate appearances in the majors last season. Donovan has a good eye at the plate, and if the power is here to stay, he could end up being a fantasy gem.

Estrada went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Thursday's 5-0 loss to the Yankees.

The Giants' offense was rather lackluster, but Estrada was a bright spot as the only San Francisco batter to get aboard multiple times. The 27-year-old hit .282 with eight RBI and two steals over 14 spring games. He was in the No. 6 spot in the order Thursday, and he should see regular time at second base with the occasional move to shortstop when Brandon Crawford needs a rest. Estrada posted 21 steals on 27 attempts while slashing .260/.322/.400 over 140 contests a year ago.

Turang went 1-for-3 with a single during the Brewers' 4-0 loss to the Cubs on Thursday.

Turang wasted no time getting his first career MLB hit, reaching on an infield single in his first at-bat during the third inning. It also gave the 23-year-old infielder a chance to showcase his elite speed, which could translate into a good amount of stolen bases in 2023.

Urias suffered a left hamstring injury Thursday versus the Cubs, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The Brewers expect to have an update on the third baseman either Friday or Saturday, so Urias could miss Game 2 of the season-opening series on Saturday. Urias went 0-for-4 on Opening Day.

Lux (knee) was placed on the 60-day injured list Thursday.

Lux will miss the entire 2023 season after requiring surgery in early March to repair significant damage to both the ACL and LCL in his right knee.

Wisely made the Giants' Opening Day roster, Danny Emerman of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.

Wisely was initially told he wouldn't make the Opening Day roster, but the Giants' last-minute moves opened up a spot for the versatile infielder. The 23-year-old will open his major-league career as a bench bat, and it's unclear how long he might stick with the big club.

Donovan is starting at second base and batting leadoff for Thursday's opener versus the Blue Jays.

Donovan could move to the bottom of the order against lefties, but he looks to be the preferred choice at leadoff versus right-handers. Lars Nootbaar will bat behind Donovan in the two-hole.

Villar is not in the Giants' lineup for Thursday's opener against the Yankees.

The Giants on multiple occasions have implied that Villar would be their regular third baseman to begin 2023, but he'll ride the pine on Opening Day. It will be Wilmer Flores handling the hot corner instead Thursday, batting third.
