  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Steals 20th base, scores three runs

Hoerner went 1-for-2 with two walks and three runs scored in Wednesday's 15-2 win over the Reds. He also stole a base.

Hoerner was busy in the season finale despite recording just one hit. The stolen base was his 20th of the year to go along with 10 home runs, as the young shortstop started to flash a nice mix of speed and power in his fourth season in the majors. Hoerner may be overshadowed by a handful of other middle infielders heading into 2023, though he looks primed to continue his development and remain a strong fantasy asset.

  • Ha-seong Kim 2B | ATL

Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Absent from Wednesday's lineup

Kim isn't starting Wednesday against the Giants, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Kim is in the midst of a three-game hitting streak in which he's gone 5-for-11 with a homer, a double, three RBI, two runs and a stolen base. He'll get a breather while Jake Cronenworth starts at shortstop and bats cleanup.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Late scratch Wednesday

India was scratched from Wednesday's lineup against the Cubs due to a foot injury, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

India fouled a ball off his foot Tuesday but was initially expected to serve as the designated hitter and lead off during Wednesday's regular-season finale. However, Alejo Lopez will take over as the DH and lead off Wednesday.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Absent from Wednesday's lineup

McNeil isn't starting Wednesday against Washington.

McNeil has strengthened his case for the National League batting title recently, slashing .465/.500/.651 with two home runs, two doubles, nine runs, four RBI and three walks over the last 10 games. However, he'll get a breather for Wednesday's regular-season finale while Luis Guillorme starts at the keystone and bats sixth.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

Giants' Thairo Estrada: Falls ill Wednesday

The Giants scratched Estrada from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres due to an illness, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

San Francisco will presumably look to stay away from Estrada in the season finale, bringing a close to his strong 2022 campaign. The 26-year-old has likely put himself in good position to open 2023 in a near-everyday role after slashing .260/.322/.402 with 14 home runs, 21 stolen bases, 71 runs and 62 RBI across 140 games.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

Giants' Thairo Estrada: Scratched from Wednesday's lineup

Estrada was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres for an undisclosed reason, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Estrada started the last six games but was removed from the lineup for Wednesday's season finale just over an hour before the start of the game. It's not yet clear whether he'll be available off the bench, but Ford Proctor will enter the lineup at the keystone and bat eighth.

  • Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Sitting for regular-season finale

Donovan isn't starting Wednesday against Pittsburgh, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Donovan has recorded hits in each of the last eight games, hitting .310 with two doubles, seven runs, an RBI, five walks and three strikeouts over that stretch. However, Paul DeJong will take over at the keystone and bat ninth during Wednesday's regular-season finale.

  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Riding pine Wednesday

Stott isn't in the lineup Wednesday against the Astros.

Stott started the last six games and hit .429 with a home run, three doubles, five RBI, four runs and three stolen bases. He'll get a breather while Nick Maton takes over at shortstop and bats eighth.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Closing in on batting title

McNeil went 3-for-8 with a double, a solo home run and a second run scored across both games of Tuesday's doubleheader sweep of the Nationals.

The Mets launched back-to-back-to-back homers to lead off the nightcap, with McNeil following Brandon Nimmo and Francisco Lindor in that train. The 30-year-old utility player is on the verge of winning his first career batting title, as McNeil leads the NL with a .326 batting average -- well ahead of the Dodgers' Freddie Freeman at .322 with only one day left on the calendar.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Continues recent surge

Rodgers went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 5-2 win against the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Rodgers took Los Angeles starter Julio Urias deep to left in the first inning and added a single in the third for his third multi-hit performance in his last five games. During the stretch, the 26-year-old is 9-for-18 with two home runs, a double and three walks and has boosted his season OPS from .710 to .736.
