  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Back in action Wednesday

Rodgers (illness) will start at second base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Rodgers will draw back into the starting nine after missing the previous two contests with an illness. Harold Castro will head back to the bench to clear room at the keystone for Rodgers, who is hitting .218 with no home runs, 10 RBI and eight runs in 84 plate appearances since being activated from the injured list July 31.

  • Nolan Gorman 3B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Sits against lefty

Gorman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres, Lynn Worthy of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

With the Cardinals and Padres getting together for a day game after a night game and with southpaw Rich Hill on the bump for San Diego, the lefty-hitting Gorman will get a day off. Gorman is sitting for the first time since he returned Friday from the 10-day injured list. He went 1-for-12 with two walks and 10 strikeouts in his first four games back in action.

  • Liover Peguero SS | PIT

Pirates' Liover Peguero: Tallies three hits, homer

Peguero went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 6-3 victory over the Royals.

Peguero swatted his sixth home run of 2023 on Tuesday, driving in Endy Rodriguez and Josh Palacios on a three-run shot off Steven Cruz in the ninth inning. In the three games prior to Tuesday's outburst, Peguero was 0-for-9 with six strikeouts, and the home run was his first since Aug. 15. On the season, Peguero is slashing .248/.300/.446 across 112 plate appearances, and he's stolen four bases.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Out again with illness

Rodgers (illness) remains out of the lineup Tuesday versus Atlanta.

Rodgers was scratched from the Rockies' lineup Monday due to an illness and apparently needs a bit more rest and treatment. Harold Castro is playing second base and batting seventh Tuesday against the NL East leaders.

  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Sitting against lefty

Stott is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Angels.

Rodolfo Castro will get a rare start at second base as the Phillies take on left-hander Tyler Anderson. The left-handed-hitting Stott went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Monday's series opener versus the Angels, though he managed to tally his 25th stolen base of the season in what was a 6-4 victory for Philly.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Late scratch due to illness

Rodgers has been scratched from Monday's starting lineup against Atlanta due to illness, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports.

Rodgers was expected to bat sixth and man the keystone, but he'll now be considered day-to-day due to an illness. Harold Castro will play second base and bat seventh in Rodgers' place.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Batting second in return

Albies (hamstring) will start at second base and bat second in Monday's game against the Rockies.

Albies was activated from the 10-day injured list earlier Monday after missing two weeks with a strained left hamstring. He'll step back right into an everyday role in the middle infield and will get a favorable setup this week as Atlanta opens a three-game series in hitter-friendly Coors Field.

  • Nicky Lopez 2B | TEX

Braves' Nicky Lopez: Back on bench in Albies' return

Lopez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rockies.

After three consecutive starts at the keystone, Lopez will shift back to the bench for Monday's series opener. He'll likely find himself in a lightly-used utility role moving forward after Atlanta brought Ozzie Albies (hamstring) back from the 10-day injured list Monday.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Returns from 10-day injured list

Albies (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day injured list Monday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Albies missed two weeks of action with a strained left hamstring but is back on the active roster without playing a rehab game. The timing couldn't be better with Atlanta slated to begin a three-game series in Colorado on Monday. Albies is sporting an .841 OPS with 28 home runs, 90 RBI and 11 stolen bases this season.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Retreats to bench Sunday

Hernandez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

The utility man will head to the bench after he started in each of the past four games while going 5-for-18 with one home run, three doubles, two walks, five RBI and two runs in addition to picking up reps in center field and at third base and shortstop. He should be a mainstay in the lineup versus left-handers and will see occasional starts versus right-handed pitching.
