Cronenworth went 2-for-4 with one RBI, two stolen bases and one run scored in Saturday's 8-7 win over the Blue Jays.

Cronenworth has gone 12-for-42 (.286) over 13 games since he returned from a concussion. His pair of steals Saturday gives him three thefts on the year. The veteran infielder is batting .187 with a .553 OPS, three home runs, 11 RBI, 17 runs scored and three doubles over 45 contests. Cronenworth has seen steady time in the lineup between first base, second base and designated hitter since his coming off the IL.

Arraez went 3-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Rockies.

Arraez collected his fourth multi-hit effort over his last seven games. He's also picked up two steals in that span and now has eight thefts on the year, three shy of matching his career high from the 2025 regular season. The contact hitter is batting .331 with an .832 OPS, four home runs, 35 RBI, 47 runs scored, 21 doubles and seven triples over 89 contests.

Cronenworth isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against Toronto.

Cronenworth will get a break Friday after going 4-for-15 while collecting a homer, three RBI and two runs during San Diego's previous series against the D-backs. Miguel Andujar will serve as the DH and bat seventh in Cronenworth's absence.

Song isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Blue Jays.

After going just 1-for-13 with an RBI and two runs scored in four games against the Diamondbacks, Song will take a seat to begin Friday's series opener against Toronto. Fernando Tatis will move to second base as a result, opening up right field for Jase Bowen.

The Cardinals are in agreement with Wetherholt on a long-term contract extension, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Per Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the deal is worth eight years and $112.5 million and could max out at $132 million if all escalators are reached. Wetherholt is the likely National League Rookie of the Year front-runner, sporting a .267/.362/.411 batting line with 13 home runs, nine stolen bases and a 38:61 BB:K over 87 contests. The 23-year-old is also leading all second basemen in outs above average at plus-16.

Arraez went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 8-2 win over the Rockies.

Arraez hit an RBI double in the fifth inning, drew a walk in the sixth and singled before coming around to score in the eighth. The 29-year-old infielder has recorded three multi-hit games through eight outings in July, batting .273 with three RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base across 36 plate appearances during that time. He's now slashing .326/.363/.460 with 46 runs scored, 35 RBI, seven stolen bases and four long balls in 389 plate appearances this season.

The Reds placed McLain on the 10-day injured list with a strained calf, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

McLain was unavailable Thursday because of the injury and ultimately wasn't able to avoid a trip to the injured list. The 26-year-old has seen his role reduced, as McLain had started only five of the Reds' last 12 games before his placement on the IL. Calf strains typically result in longer than 10-day absences, but it's unclear how severe McLain's strain is.

Turang went 2-for-5 with a home run, a stolen base, two total runs and two total RBI in an 8-4 victory versus St. Louis on Thursday.

Turang singled home a run in the third inning and plated himself with a 419-foot solo shot to center field in the seventh. He added a stolen base, marking the third time this season he's homered and swiped a bag in the same contest. Fantasy managers likely remember the early portion of Turang's career when he was all speed and little power, but that's no longer the case. After belting a career-high 18 long balls over 156 regular-season games last year, he's on pace to exceed that mark with 13 home runs through 88 contests so far in 2026. Turang has added a .269/.361/.462 slash line, 65 runs, 56 RBI and 15 steals to further cement his status as one of MLB's top second basemen.

Castro went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 8-2 loss to the Giants.

Castro's fourth-inning blast briefly gave the Rockies a 2-1 lead, but it was their lone scoring play of the game. The utility man has gone 5-for-27 (.185) over eight games in July, and this was his first extra-base hit of the month. Castro is still getting a decent run of playing time, especially since the Rockies have faced three southpaws over the last six games, allowing him some time at second base over the left-handed-hitting Edouard Julien. Castro is batting .265 with a .722 OPS, seven homers, 37 RBI, 40 runs scored, six stolen bases and 13 doubles through 60 games this season.

Reds manager Terry Francona said that McLain is not in Thursday's lineup against the Phillies due to a calf issue, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

It seems at this juncture to be a day-to-day injury, but with the All-Star break looming, the Reds could choose to put McLain on the injured list if he doesn't improve in a hurry. He's been playing center field lately versus lefties, but because McLain is banged up it will be TJ Friedl in center against southpaw Jesus Luzardo on Thursday.
