  • Corban Joseph 2B | BAL

Orioles' Corban Joseph: Contract selected from minors

Joseph had his contract purchased from Double-A Bowie on Friday.

Joseph has appeared in four games for the Orioles this year during a brief stint with the team in mid-June, going 1-for-9 with one RBI and picking up a pair of starts. Across 122 contests with Bowie, he's hit .312/.381/.497 with 17 home runs and 68 RBI, to go along with eight stolen bases. He will serve as additional infield depth for the rest of the month.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Snaps hitless streak

Altuve went 1-for-3 with a double, two walks, an RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 9-1 win over the Twins.

Altuve's sixth-inning double snapped a string of 19 at-bats without a hit. That's the longest such stretch of the season for one of the game's best hitters.

  • Tigers' Ronny Rodriguez: Productive in win over White Sox

Rodriguez went 1-for-4 with a walk, a two-run home run and a stolen base in Wednesday's 10-2 rout of the White Sox.

The homer was his fourth of the year, while the steal was his first -- all of which have come in his last 11 games. Rodriguez's overall .216/.255/.331 slash line in the majors isn't impressive, but he could be getting comfortable at the plate now that he's seeing regular playing time.

  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

Rangers' Elvis Andrus: Swats sixth round tripper

Andrus went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Angels.

Andrus' homer was the second in three games and gives him six for the season. It's a big comedown after the shortstop swatted 20 in 2017, but an April elbow injury that forced him to miss 59 games derailed any thoughts of him repeating that feat. Andrus has a .379 slugging percentage over the 63 games (272 at-bats) since his return from the injury.

  • Gordon Beckham 2B | SEA

Mariners' Gordon Beckham: Back in big leagues

Beckham was recalled by the Mariners on Tuesday.

Beckham hit just .222/.282/.250 in a 14-game stint with the Mariners earlier in the season and hasn't posted a wRC+ above 75 since way back in 2013. He'll be little more than bench depth for Seattle and is unlikely to have much fantasy value even if given unexpected playing time.

  • Gregorio Petit 2B | PHI

Twins' Gregorio Petit: Contract purchased by Twins

Petit's contract was purchased by the Twins on Monday, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.

The 33-year-old appeared in 12 games for the Twins earlier in the season, hitting .308, before eventually being designated for assignment. He's back on the roster now and will fill a backup infield role down the stretch. Logan Morrison (hip) was moved to the 60-day disabled list in a corresponding move.

  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

Athletics' Marcus Semien: Drives in two, swipes bag in win

Semien went 1-for-3 with a two-run single, a stolen base and a run in a win over the Mariners on Sunday.

Semien led off as customary with a righty in Felix Hernandez on the mound and provided plenty from the top of the order. The shortstop has now hit safely in five straight, and he's driven in five runs over the last three contests overall. Semien has been a much more prominent presence on the base paths in the second half of the season, as evidenced by a post-All-Star-break OBP of .365 that represents a 58-improvement over his first-half figure.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Gets breather Monday

Altuve is not in the lineup Monday against the Twins.

Altuve started 12 games in a row after returning from a knee injury, hitting just .250 over that stretch. Marwin Gonzalez will fill in at second base, with Tony Kemp playing left field.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Runs cold over weekend

Altuve went 0-for-3 in Sunday's win over the Angels, extending his hitless streak to 13 at-bats.

This is not Altuve's longest hitless streak of the season -- he went 16 at-bats without one back in May -- but any run of futility for one of the game's best hitters is remarkable. He and Alex Bregman switched spots in the order Saturday, Altuve to the two hole with Bregman hitting behind him, which serves multiple purposes. It moves Houston's RBI leader to the three hole -- in theory, a spot where there is more RBI opportunities -- and could break Altuve's slump by giving him better pitches to hit. "For so long, we've talked about how having Altuve behind Bregman is probably giving him so many pitches to hit, maybe Bregman can return the favor now by switching them and trying something different," manager A.J. Hinch told Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Knocks in two vs. Detroit

Torres went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a walk in Sunday's 11-7 loss to the Tigers.

Torres delivered a two-run single to center field in the ninth inning to cut the deficit to four, but the Yankees would fall short in the series finale. Following Sunday's contest, he's put together a seven-game hitting streak, clubbing two home runs and driving in 10 over that span. Torres owns a .282 average with 22 homers and 66 RBI through 99 games in his first big-league season.
