Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Athletics' Marcus Semien: Cranks three-run homer
Semien went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run Wednesday against the Rangers.
Semien took Kyle Dowdy deep in the second inning to record his fourth home run of the season. While his power production has been streaky -- he's slugging .505 but this was his first home run since Apr. 24 -- he has batted primarily in the top two spots in the Athletics' order and gotten on base at a .379 clip. That's been buoyed by a 13:12 K:BB, helping him rank among the American League leaders in runs scored with 21.

Logan Forsythe 2B | LAD
Rangers' Logan Forsythe: Homers in loss
Forsythe went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and two runs scored in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Athletics.
Forsythe hustled his way into one run when he doubled, advanced to third on a flyout, and scampered home on a groundout against the drawn-in infield. He later got to trot his way around the bags after hitting his second home run of the season. The 32-year-old, who started at shortstop in place of Elvis Andrus (hand) on Wednesday, made the Rangers as a utility infielder but has started 17 of 23 games due to injuries in the infield. Andrus' injury is not considered serious, and as Rougned Odor (knee) and Ronald Guzman (hamstring) near their returns, Forsythe's days as an everyday starter will be coming to close within the week.

Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI
Rangers' Elvis Andrus: Trouble gripping bat
Andrus (hand) had some issues swinging Tuesday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Andrus was hit by a pitch in the hand Monday, and while the shortstop was back in the lineup Tuesday, he apparently had trouble gripping the bat, which helps explain his absence from the lineup Wednesday. The 30-year-old should be considered day-to-day ahead of Thursday's series opener against the Mariners.

Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI
Rangers' Elvis Andrus: Heads to bench
Andrus is not starting Wednesday against Oakland.
Andrus sits for the first time this season. He left Monday's game with a bruised right hand after getting hit by a pitch, though he was back in the lineup Tuesday. It's unclear if Wednesday's absence is related to that injury or if it's simply a routine day off. Logan Forsythe will play shortstop.

Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI
Rangers' Elvis Andrus: Active in Tuesday's loss
Andrus went 1-for-5 with a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 11-5 loss to the Athletics.
Andrus did not miss any time after he took a pitch off his hand and was removed from Monday's game. The stolen base was his fifth of the season, matching the same number of steals he posted last season in 97 games.

Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Launches ninth homer
Altuve went 1-for-4 with a walk and a three-run home run in Tuesday's 10-4 win over the Twins.
He took Tyler Duffey deep in the eighth inning to cap the scoring for Houston. Altuve has slowed down considerably at the plate, going 6-for-30 (.200) over the last eight games, but two of those hits have left the yard to give the second baseman nine homers on the year.

Michael Chavis 2B | CIN
Red Sox's Michael Chavis: Hits first career home run
Chavis went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 4-2 loss during the second game of a doubleheader against the Tigers on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old went 0-for-4 in the afternoon tilt but rebounded with multiple hits, including a homer, during the nightcap. Chavis is 3-for-13 (.231) with two extra-base hits, one RBI and one run in four games this season.

Ronny Rodriguez 2B | DET
Tigers' Ronny Rodriguez: Excels in doubleheader sweep
Rodriguez went a combined 4-for-8 with a home run, three doubles and three runs scored in a doubleheader Tuesday against the Red Sox.
Rodriguez started at shortstop in both games, and he really popped in the first contest, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored as the Tigers won 7-2. The 27-year-old chipped in another double and run scored in the second game, which the Tigers took 4-2. The big day bumped Rodriguez's batting average up to .429 to go along with a 1.367 OPS through a small sample of 14 at-bats.

Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI
Rangers' Elvis Andrus: Good to go Tuesday
Andrus (hand) said he will play Tuesday against the Athletics, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Andrus exited Monday's game after being hit by a pitch on the right hand, but thankfully sustained only a bruise. The 30-year-old will bat third and start at shortstop Thursday, per usual.

Gordon Beckham 2B | SEA
Tigers' Gordon Beckham: Sits for second game
