Tigers' Ronny Rodriguez: Swats first homer
Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with solo home run, two doubles and two RBI in Detroit's 7-4 win over the Red Sox on Tuesday.
Rodriguez lifted his first homer of the season (off Heath Hembree) to break a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning in the first game of a doubleheader. He also doubled in the fourth and eighth innings. Getting his third start of the season, the 27-year-old made a bid for more playing time by raising his batting average to .500 in just 10 at-bats this season.

Tigers' Gordon Beckham: Resting in front end of twin bill
Beckham is out of the lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Red Sox, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Beckham has been acting as the Tigers' primary shortstop while Jordy Mercer (quadriceps) has been stuck on the injured list, starting in five of Detroit's previous six contests. Ronny Rodriguez will check in at shortstop for the first half of the twin bill in a matchup with Red Sox ace Chris Sale, but Beckham should be back in the lineup for the nightcap, when the Tigers take on right-hander Hector Velazquez.

Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI
Rangers' Elvis Andrus: Exits with bruised hand
Andrus was pulled from Monday night's game against the Athletics due to a bruised right hand.
Texas can breathe a sigh of relief, as Andrus appears to have avoided a significant injury despite taking a 94 mph fastball off his throwing hand. He'll likely avoid a trip to the injured list given the nature of the issue.

Rangers' Elvis Andrus: Pulled after HBP
Andrus was lifted from Monday's game against Oakland after being struck by a pitch on his right forearm, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Andrus managed to remain in the contest for a few innings after being struck by a pitch, although he was pinch hit for in the seventh inning in a key situation. He'll be considered day-to-day until more information on his injury is released by the Rangers.

Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM
Twins' Jorge Polanco: Knocks in four
Polanco went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, two runs scored and four RBI in a 9-5 win over the Astros on Monday.
Polanco put an exclamation point on his big day with a two-run shot off Chris Devenski in the eighth inning. After only driving in one run in the last week, the 25-year-old broke through, adding four RBI to give him nine for the season. Polanco has a .392/.452/.716 slash line through 19 games.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Leading off versus righty
Lowe will start at first base and handle leadoff duties in Monday's game against the Rays, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.
After resting in Sunday's series finale against the Red Sox when lefty David Price was on the hill for Boston, Lowe will return to the lineup as the leadoff hitter as the Rays match up with righty Brad Keller. Though Lowe has most commonly batted fourth or fifth versus righties this season, it looks like he'll get the first chance to replace injured table setter Austin Meadows (thumb). The Rays haven't issued an official target date for Meadows' return from the 10-day injured list, but general manager Erik Neander admitted Monday the team expects the outfielder to miss "a few weeks."

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Athletics' Marcus Semien: Crosses plate twice in loss
Semien went 2-for-4 with an RBI single, a double and two runs in a loss to the Blue Jays on Sunday.
Semien just continues rolling along, bouncing back from a rare 0-for-3 performance Saturday to generate his sixth multi-hit effort over the last 11 games. The hot-hitting shortstop has provided well-balanced contributions in April, lacing six doubles and two home runs while also knocking in eight runs and drawing eight walks.

Logan Forsythe 2B | LAD
Rangers' Logan Forsythe: Launches first homer
Forsythe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 11-10 win over the Astros.
Forsythe has been getting regular playing time at first base while Ronald Guzman (hamstring) is sidelined, but he hasn't seized the opportunity. He's hitting .212 (7-for-33) with one homer and five RBI in the 10 games since taking over. Guzman is on the verge of a rehabilitation assignment, so Forsythe's window should last about another week.

Gordon Beckham 2B | SEA
Tigers' Gordon Beckham: Goes deep in win
Beckham went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-3 win over the White Sox.
Beckham hit his third home run of the season in the seventh inning to make it 4-0, and the run proved critical as Chicago rallied for three runs in the eighth. The 32-year-old infielder has been effective filling in for Jordy Mercer (quadriceps), though the latter is eligible to return from the injured list Wednesday, which could push Beckham back into a reserve role.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Could lead off against RHP
Lowe is a candidate to lead off against right-handed pitchers while Austin Meadows (thumb sprain) is on the injured list, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.
Joey Wendle, who was just activated from the injured list, is manager Kevin Cash's other option atop the lineup while Meadows is out. Lowe was providing excellent counting stats (15 RBI, 11 runs) in the middle of the order. A move up would hurt his RBI chances while giving him a slight bump up in runs scored.
