Merrifield went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional run and a stolen base in Monday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Merrifield kicked things off for the Kansas City offense with a leadoff homer in the first inning, one of three long balls the team hit in the frame. He scored another run in the second inning after singling, stealing second and coming around on an error. After a brutal start to the campaign, Merrifield is batting .350 (21-for-60) over his past 14 games, adding three homers, 11 RBI, four stolen bases and 15 runs over that span.

Clement is 3-for-10 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored across eight games in May.

With the Guardians' infield fully healthy, there hasn't been much of an opportunity for Clement to start. He'll likely see most of his limited playing time at second base if Owen Miller's hitting form starts to slip, but it's unlikely Clement sees much more than a bench role in the immediate future. Clement has a .204/.283/.259 slash line with three doubles, seven runs scored and three RBI through 61 plate appearances.

Frazier went 3-for-5 with an RBI single and a two-run home run in an extra-inning loss to the Red Sox on Sunday.

Frazier erased a 2-0 deficit in the sixth inning with a 321-foot shot to right field, and he subsequently added an RBI single that snapped a 3-3 tie in the 10th inning. While the Mariners went on to blow that lead via a Franchy Cordero grand slam in the home half of the frame for the team's latest excruciating loss, Frazier snapped a brief 0-for-14 slump with his spectacular showing, which also marked his first multi-RBI tally since April 27.

Arroyo replaced an injured J.D. Martinez (back) as the designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-4 extra-inning win over the Mariners.

Martinez was a late scratch and will get another 24 hours of rest with Monday's off day before Tuesday's series opener against the White Sox. "He's doing OK. Just a tight back," Red Sox manager Alex Cora told Ian Browne of MLB.com. "Give him today, give him tomorrow and let's see where he's at on Tuesday." It's uncertain if Arroyo will get the call in Chicago if Martinez is unavailable.

Rosario went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Tigers.

Rosario got aboard with a single in his first at-bat, stole second and scored on an Owen Miller single. The steal was Rosario's second in his last three games and his third in four attempts this year. The 26-year-old is up to a .242/.291/.303 slash line with no home runs, 10 RBI, 16 runs scored, four doubles and two triples through 33 contests. Sunday was the first time he's batted second versus a right-handed pitcher since May 7 -- he's often hit fifth in recent games.

Arraez went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Sunday's 7-6 win over Kansas City.

Arraez entered the leadoff spot with Byron Buxton getting the day off, and he made a strong impression. He started the game with a single and added two more base hits, including in the eighth inning when he scored on a Max Kepler hit. The 25-year-old has gone 8-for-16 with eight runs scored over his last four games, bringing his season slash line to .336/.437/.411 through 126 plate appearances.

Rengifo went 1-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base in a 4-1 win Sunday over Oakland.

Rengifo reached base safely three times Sunday, swiping his first bag of the season and hitting fifth in the Angels' lineup for the first time. He has been excellent since being recalled from Triple-A earlier this month and has a solid .313/.421/.438 batting line in 39 plate appearances. With five straight starts at the keystone, the 25-year-old appears to be Los Angeles' primary second baseman while David Fletcher (hip) is on the injured list.

Altuve went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run in a 5-2 win against Texas on Sunday.

Altuve led off the bottom of the first with his ninth home run and tacked on a double and run in the third inning. Following a sluggish April, the 32-year-old has been hot throughout May with a .343/.403/.757 slash line, eight home runs, 18 runs and 11 RBI.

Rengifo will start at second base and bat fifth in Sunday's game against the Athletics, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Tyler Wade is picking up a start in right field with Taylor Ward (arm) on the bench for the second game in a row, paving the way for Rengifo to man the keystone for the fifth straight contest. Rengifo has gone a respectable 5-for-16 with a home run in those past four games, so he could have a case for maintaining the everyday role at second base over Wade if Ward's injury proves to be a short-term concern. Wade has provided a .588 OPS on the season and likely profiles better as a utility player than an everyday middle infielder.

Kemp is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

With southpaw Patrick Sandoval on the bump for the Angels, the lefty-hitting Kemp will get a day off while Sheldon Neuse picks up a start at the keystone. Kemp had started in each of Oakland's last 18 games, leading off 15 times during that stretch while slashing .180/.257/.262.
