  • Tigers' Harold Castro: Sitting against lefty again

Castro is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

The Tigers are facing a left-handed starter (Steven Matz) for the fifth game in a row, with Castro having now sat on three occasions. The lefty-hitting Castro still looks to be occupying the strong side of a platoon at the position with Zack Short, who picks up his fourth consecutive start Sunday.

  • Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM

Rangers' Andy Ibanez: Continues strong play

Ibanez went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, a walk and a run in a 10-1 victory versus Boston on Saturday.

Ibanez was one of three Rangers with a trio of hits in the contest, and he knocked in a run in each of the fifth and eighth innings. The 28-year-old extended his hitting streak to six games with the strong effort. Over that span, he is batting .476 (10-for-21) with a home run, three doubles, three RBI and three runs.

  • Owen Miller 2B | CHC

Indians' Owen Miller: Two hits, one steal in win

Miller went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Angels.

The 24-year-old has started to find his way at the plate, going 6-for-20 (.300) with a double, two stolen bases, two RBI and five runs scored in his last five starts. Miller still has a lackluster .165/.220/.248 slash line across 118 plate appearances, but semi-regular playing time has helped him adjust to the major-league level.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

Indians' Amed Rosario: Homers in three-hit effort

Rosario went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Angels.

The shortstop's torrid pace in August continued Saturday. He's hit safely in 16 of 18 games this month, going 30-for-80 (.375) in that span. Rosario's consistent bat has produced a .285/.326/.412 slash line with seven long balls, 41 RBI, 61 runs scored and 12 stolen bases through 463 plate appearances. He'll continue to see most of his time in the No. 2 spot in the order, which should be a productive position with the similarly scorching Jose Ramirez hitting behind him.

  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

Blue Jays' Marcus Semien: Socks homer No. 30

Semien went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Tigers.

He capped the scoring on the afternoon with an eighth-inning blast off Erasmo Ramirez. Semien has gone yard four times in the last five games to give him 30 homers on the year, the second time he's reached that mark, and he's closing in rapidly on his career high of 33.

  • Nicky Lopez 3B | CHC

Royals' Nicky Lopez: Two steals Saturday

Lopez went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two stolen bases in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Cubs.

The top of the order did its job and then some for Kansas City, as Lopez and Whit Merrifield combined for six hits and three steals. Lopez is now up to 17 steals on the season, including seven in the last six games.

  • Royals' Whit Merrifield: Three hits in Saturday's win

Merrifield went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Cubs.

The top of the order did its job and then some for Kansas City, as Merrifield and Nicky Lopez combined for six hits and three steals. Merrifield's MLB-leading stolen base total is up to 37, including eight in his last 13 games, and he's closing in on surpassing the career-high 45 he swiped in 2018.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Records four hits in win

Altuve went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two singles, an RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 15-1 win over the Mariners.

Altuve recorded his 31st career four-hit game in Houston's blowout victory over Seattle, collecting a pair of doubles and a pair of singles. Fantasy managers are hoping this outburst spells the end of the 31-year-old's August slump, as the run Altuve knocked in Saturday was somehow just his second RBI of the month.

  • Rangers' Yonny Hernandez: Not starting Saturday

Hernandez isn't starting Saturday's game against the Red Sox.

Hernandez will have a chance to reset after he went 3-for-15 with two strikeouts across the last four games. Brock Holt will take over at third base and lead off.

  • Andres Gimenez SS | TOR

Indians' Andres Gimenez: Not starting Saturday

Gimenez isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Angels.

Gimenez has only started against five left-handers this year, and he'll take a seat Saturday with southpaw Reid Detmers on the mound for the Halos. Ernie Clement will start at the keystone and bat ninth.
