  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Smacks two homers

Lowe went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs, two walks and three runs scored Saturday against the Mariners.

Lowe took Marco Gonzales yard in consecutive plate appearances, bringing his homer total to five on the season. Lowe extended his hitting streak to six games with the effort, though this was his first multi-hit effort in that span. He is still having a subpar start to the season, but he has improved his line to .214/.310/.408 to go along with 11 RBI and 18 runs scored across 113 plate appearances.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Slugs fourth homer

Altuve went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored Saturday against the Tigers.

Altuve took Eduardo Rodriguez yard in the third inning to record his fourth homer of the season. He has a five-game hitting streak -- three of which have been multi-hit efforts -- during which he has collected three home runs, three RBI and six runs scored. Overall, Altuve has a .255/.359/.473 line while also chipping in two steals across 64 plate appearances on the campaign.

  • Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM

Twins' Jorge Polanco: Hits game-winning solo shot

Polanco went 3-for-4 with a solo homer in Saturday's 1-0 win over Oakland.

Polanco matched Oakland's hit total and had more hits than the rest of his teammates combined while providing all of the day's scoring. His homer was a two-out shot off James Kaprielian, chasing Kaprielian from the game. Polanco is now hitting .232/.325/.384 with three homers through 27 games.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Mariners' Adam Frazier: On base thrice in Friday's loss

Frazier went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run in a loss to the Rays on Friday.

Frazier made plenty of noise out of the leadoff spot, generating only his second multi-hit effort in the last 11 games. The 30-year-old's .243/.308/.346 slash line is still below his standards, but his 13.7 percent strikeout rate remains in line with his career norms.

  • Red Sox's Enrique Hernandez: Batting sixth in return

Hernandez is starting Saturday's game against the White Sox.

Hernandez was activated following a brief stint on the COVID-19 injured list, and he'll start in center field and bat sixth Saturday. The 30-year-old is hitting just .189 with a homer, 12 runs and 12 RBI this year, but he'll serve as Boston's primary center fielder now that he's back to full health.

  • Red Sox's Enrique Hernandez: Reinstated from COVID-19 IL

Hernandez (illness) was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list Saturday.

Although Hernandez had been feeling under the weather lately, he didn't test positive for COVID-19 and will now rejoin the team following a brief absence. He'll reclaim his role as Boston's primary center fielder after Jarren Duran was optioned to Triple-A Worcester. Hernandez has reached base in 11 of his last 12 games and has hit .227 with two doubles, eight RBI and three runs during that time.

  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: On bench for matinee

Gimenez isn't starting the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays.

Gimenez will get a breather after he went 4-for-8 with a double, two runs, two RBI and a strikeout over the last two games. Owen Miller will shift to second base while Richie Palacios enters the lineup in left field for Saturday's matinee.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Draws two walks

Lowe went 1-for-2 with two walks and a run scored Friday against Seattle.

Lowe was on base four times -- he was also hit by a pitch -- and drew his first free pass since April 23. He also extended his hitting streak to five games with the effort, though all have been one-hit performances and he has only one RBI and three runs scored in that span. Overall, Lowe is hitting just .200/.287/.337 across his first 108 plate appearances of the season.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Reaches three times

Altuve went 2-for-3 with a walk Friday against the Tigers.

Altuve is hitting only .235 across 60 plate appearances, though he has at least one hit in seven of his last eight games. He's also walked nine times while striking out on just 11 occasions this season, so his plate skills remain intact. Most importantly, Altuve has maintained the leadoff role in a potent Astros lineup, which should allow him to rack up runs scored as he starts to collect hits at an increased rate.

  • Red Sox's Enrique Hernandez: Placed on COVID-19 IL

Hernandez (illness) was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Friday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

The Red Sox said Thursday that Hernandez has tested negative for COVID-19, but he's away from the team and will land on the injured list. He'll be eligible to return as soon as he clears the league's protocols, but Jarren Duran was called up to take his place on the active roster, and the prospect will start in center field and lead off Friday against the White Sox.
