  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: Bat remains hot in loss

Kemp went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and two runs in a loss to the White Sox on Friday.

Kemp's hitting streak is now at 11 games following Friday's output. The veteran did see his 10-game stretch without a punchout end courtesy of a swing and miss of a Joe Kelly knuckle curve during his final plate appearance of the night, but Kemp's current .231 average qualifies as his best figure in that category since June 25.

  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Logs another steal

Gimenez went 0-for-4 with a hit-by-pitch and a stolen base in Friday's 7-6 win over the Twins.

Gimenez appears to have a green light on the basepaths currently -- he's logged three steals in four attempts over his last five games. For the season, he's 18-for-21 in steals while slashing .302/.370/.478 through 123 contests.

  • Romy Gonzalez 2B | BOS

White Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Not starting Saturday

Gonzalez isn't in the lineup Saturday against Oakland, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

Gonzalez is getting a breather after he went 5-for-9 with a home run, a double, four runs, four RBI and four strikeouts over the last two games. Josh Harrison will start at the keystone and bat ninth.

  • Luis Rengifo 2B | MIL

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Extends on-base streak, swipes bag

Rengifo went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in a loss to the Astros on Friday.

Rengifo notched one of five Angels hits in the contest, collecting a single in the seventh inning and following with a swipe of second base. The hit extended the infielder's on-base streak to 16 games, during which he's slashing .299/.309/.448 with two homers, six RBI and a stolen base. After struggling early in the season, Rengifo has worked his way into fantasy relevance with a .306 batting average, nine homers, 33 RBI and five thefts over 66 contests since June 22.

  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

White Sox's Elvis Andrus: Steals ninth bag, drives in two

Andrus went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a stolen base Friday against the Athletics.

Andrus doubled in the winning runs in the ninth inning and then proceeded to steal third base. He now has nine stolen bases on the season, though this was only his second in 20 games with the White Sox. In that same span with his new club, Andrus is hitting .298 with four homers, 17 RBI and 12 runs scored.

  • Tigers' Harold Castro: Riding pine Friday

Castro isn't in the lineup Friday against the Royals.

Castro is getting a breather after he went 0-for-8 with two walks over the last two games. Spencer Torkelson will start at first base and bat fifth.

  • Royals' Michael Massey: Takes seat Friday

Massey is not in the lineup for Friday's contest against the Tigers, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

The lefty-hitting Massey will get a day off as the Tigers will put southpaw Joey Wentz on the bump to start Friday's game. Nicky Lopez will take over for Massey at second base, Bobby Witt will slide to shortstop, Hunter Dozier will move to third and Drew Waters will take over in right field.

  • Jonathan Arauz 3B | LAD

    Orioles' Jonathan Arauz: Clears waivers

Arauz cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Arauz hasn't appeared in a big-league game since late July and lost his spot on Baltimore's 40-man roster earlier in the week. The fact that he was a freely available 24-year-old middle infielder could potentially have interested teams, but his career .200/.269/.314 slash line in 68 major-league contests seemingly scared away any possible suitors.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: On base twice in return

Kemp (groin) went 1-for-2 with a walk in a loss to the White Sox on Thursday.

Kemp's groin tightness kept him on the shelf for just one game, and the veteran extended his hitting streak to 10 games upon return. The 30-year-old has only one multi-hit effort during that span, but he's still produced an encouraging .308 batting average and .742 OPS while not striking out a single time in 42 plate appearances.

  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

White Sox's Elvis Andrus: Continues hitting well

Andrus went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, two RBI and three runs scored Thursday against the Athletics.

Andrus led off the game with his 12th home run of the season and his fourth in his last nine starts. He's also collected at least one hit in 13 of his last 15 games, tallying 12 RBI and 11 runs scored in that span while maintaining a .323 average. Overall, Andrus has maintained a .308 wOBA and 105 wRC+ to go along with eight stolen bases across 469 plate appearances this season.
