Rangers' Marcus Semien: Drives in three runs

Semien went 2-for-5 with a double, three RBI and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Cubs.

Semien knocked a two-run double during the Rangers' four-run second inning and later added an RBI single in the sixth. It was his second straight game with a double after five consecutive outings with no extra-base knocks. Semien is slashing .231/.244/.359 with six RBI and a 1:9 BB:K through 41 plate appearances.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Orioles' Adam Frazier: Sitting out versus lefty

Frazier is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

With a tough southpaw in Nestor Cortes taking the hill for the Yankees in the series finale, the lefty-hitting Frazier will bow out of the starting nine. Ramon Urias will step in for Frazier at second base.

  • Amed Rosario SS | NYY

Guardians' Amed Rosario: Three hits in loss

Rosario went 3-for-5 with a double and a stolen base in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Mariners.

The shortstop did his job from the two-hole for the Guardians, but the rest of the team's one through five hitters went a combined 2-for-16 around him, giving Rosario few opportunities to turn his hits into run production. Rosario's double was his first extra-base hit of the year, and he's batting .244 (10-for-41) through nine games with three runs, three RBI and two steals.

  • Luis Rengifo 2B | MIL

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Homers, swipes bag Saturday

Rengifo went 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's 9-5 win against Toronto.

Rengifo has gotten off to a slow start this season, batting .167 through his first 31 plate appearances. However, he's at least shown good plate discipline with a 6:3 BB:K, and he notched both his first long ball and his first theft Saturday. Rengifo has started all but one of the Angels' eight contests thus far, so he appears to have an everyday role despite the team's crowded infield this season.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Plates three in victory

Lowe went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run, three walks and four runs scored in Saturday's win over Oakland.

Lowe extended the Rays' lead to 9-0 with a three-run blast to center that scored Francisco Mejia and Yandy Diaz in the sixth. With the long ball, Lowe delivered his first homer and first three RBI of the campaign.

  • Angels' Brandon Drury: Takes seat Saturday

Drury is out of the lineup Saturday against the Blue Jays.

Drury will take a seat against Jose Berrios on the day Anthony Rendon returns from his four-game suspension. The infielder has struggled over six games with the Angels to begin 2023 with a .410 OPS, no home runs and a 0:7 BB:K over 25 plate appearances.

  • Vidal Brujan 2B | NYM

Rays' Vidal Brujan: Recalled from Triple-A

The Rays recalled Brujan from Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Brujan replaces Jose Siri after Siri was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain. The former top prospect has posted just a .439 OPS in 62 career games with the Rays, and will likely see inconsistent playing time while he's on the major-league roster.

  • Royals' Michael Massey: Out of Saturday's lineup

Massey is not in the lineup for Saturday's game at San Francisco.

Massey is 4-for-22 through seven games this season and will head to the bench Saturday with lefty Sean Manaea on the mound for the Giants. Matt Duffy will fill in at the keystone and bat seventh.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: Takes seat Saturday

Kemp is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rays.

Kemp started against the previous two left-handed starting pitchers the A's faced this season, but he'll head to the bench Saturday against Rays southpaw Jeffrey Springs. Aledmys Diaz will shift to the keystone while Nick Allen starts at shortstop.

  • Mauricio Dubon 2B | ATL

Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Takes seat Saturday

Dubon is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Twins, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Dubon has started five of eight games at the keystone and went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run Friday, but he'll head to the bench for Saturday's contest. David Hensley will man second base and bat seventh.
