  • Colt Keith 3B | DET

Tigers' Colt Keith: Tallies two hits in loss

Keith went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Monday's 7-4 loss to the Pirates.

Keith now has hits in three straight games, and the rookie is batting a respectable .250 overall across his first 10 contests. He's yet to go deep this year after hitting a total of 27 home runs across two levels in 2023, but the power should come as long as he keeps making consistent contact. Keith should stay locked into a regular role as well, so the opportunity is there for the promising 22-year-old to have a strong debut campaign.

  • Justin Foscue 2B | TEX

Rangers' Justin Foscue: Lands on 10-day IL

Foscue was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday with a left oblique strain.

Foscue made his big-league debut just a few days earlier against Houston, so it's unclear as to when he suffered the injury. The Rangers selected Davis Wendzel's contract from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move.

  • Romy Gonzalez DH | BOS

Red Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Called up by Red Sox

The Red Sox called up Gonzalez from Triple-A Worcester on Monday, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.

In a corresponding move, the Red Sox optioned Bobby Dalbec to Triple-A Worcester. Gonzalez had a strong start to his minor-league season, slashing .321/.375/.821 with three home runs and 10 RBI over 32 plate appearances. He'll bring some infield depth and a right-handed bat for the Red Sox and should get starts against left-handed pitching. Gonzalez saw time at second base, shortstop and first base at Triple-A.

  • Edouard Julien 2B | COL

Twins' Edouard Julien: Sitting versus lefty

Julien is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

The Dodgers are sending southpaw James Paxton to the hill, so the left-handed hitting Julien will begin this one on the bench. Kyle Farmer receives the start at second base.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Royals' Adam Frazier: Out of lineup vs. lefty

Frazier is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

Frazier is on the bench for the third time in the past four games, this time against southpaw Garrett Crochet. Nick Loftin will receive the start at the keystone and bat third.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Productive in win

Torres went 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in New York's win over Toronto on Saturday. He also walked and stole a base.

Torres extended New York's lead with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second and later swiped a bag before scoring on a single from Juan Soto in the sixth. The second baseman also added a double late and has now hit safely in three straight. After batting just .133 through four games in March, Torres is now batting .300 in April with two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base.

  • Pablo Reyes RF | SD

Red Sox's Pablo Reyes: Starts at shortstop

Reyes started at shortstop and went 0-for-3 in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Angels.

Reyes got the start after the Red Sox placed primary shortstop Trevor Story on the 10-day injured list with a dislocated left shoulder. The fill-in shortstop had an issue during the Angels' two-run sixth-inning; Reyes was unable to get the ball out of his glove in time to get a force-out at second base that would have ended the inning. It's not clear if he's the long-term solution to replace Story, who could have a lengthy absence, as the Red Sox summoned David Hamilton from Triple-A Worcester.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: One hit in 2024 debut

Sosa went 1-for-3 Saturday against the Royals.

Sosa was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday and was immediately penciled in at second base while hitting seventh. He accounted for one of only three hits by the White Sox, though he's likely to serve primarily as a backup across most of the infield positions. Even if Sosa does find more consistent playing time, he's managed only a .186 average across his first 209 big-league plate appearances.

  • Jorge Polanco DH | NYM

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Launches first homer

Polanco went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and an additional RBI during Saturday's 5-3 win over the Brewers.

Polanco is still hitting just .176 on the season but has shown signs of life lately with a hit in each of his past five games, though he's gone just 5-for-20 during that stretch. The 30-year-old is still batting out of the No. 3 spot for now, but he may need to get on track soon to retain that slot.

  • Luis Rengifo 3B | SD

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Back in action Saturday

Rengifo (head) is starting at second base Saturday against the Red Sox, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Rengifo has been sidelined for the past few days after leaving Wednesday's contest due to lightheadedness. The issue has seemingly subsided ahead of Saturday's contest, so the 27-year-old will give Brandon Drury a breather and look to tally a hit in his third consecutive game.
