Josh Naylor 1B | SEA
Guardians' Josh Naylor: On bench versus lefty
Naylor is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Angels.
Naylor has started against left-handed pitching twice previously this season but won't due so Tuesday with Patrick Sandoval pitching for the Halos. Oscar Mercado will man right field for Cleveland.

Josh Bell DH | MIN
Nationals' Josh Bell: Re-enters lineup
Bell (hamstring) will start at first base and bat cleanup in Tuesday's game against the Marlins.
Bell was held out of Sunday's 12-3 loss to the Giants after tweaking his right hamstring in Saturday's game, but the day out of the lineup plus Monday's off day evidently provided enough time for him to heal up from the injury. The Nationals could look to use Bell as a designated hitter at some point the next few days to get him off his feet, but he otherwise looks like he'll be in store for a full slate of at-bats during the Nationals' six-game week.

Paul Goldschmidt 1B | NYY
Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Multiple hits in four straight
Goldschmidt went 2-for-3 with a walk in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Mets.
Goldschmidt had multiple hits in just one of his first 11 games, but he's pulled out of the slump by going 9-for-17 in his last four. The first baseman hasn't homered yet this season, but he's picked up four doubles in 15 games. He sports a .259/.348/.328 slash line with five RBI. eight runs scored and a pair of stolen bases.

Yuli Gurriel DH | SD
Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Tallies rare stolen base
Gurriel went 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored Monday against the Rangers.
Gurriel helped manufacture offense for Houston in the sixth inning. He reached base with a two-out single and proceeded to steal second base before coming around to score on a Kyle Tucker single. Though Gurriel shouldn't be counted on to provide stolen bases throughout the season, he has started to heat up at the plate, collecting three doubles and three runs scored combined across his last two games.

LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW
Giants' LaMonte Wade: Making another rehab appearance
Wade (knee) is expected to play five innings in a rehab game at Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
Wade began his rehab assignment in Sacramento on Saturday and went 0-for-2 with a run and a walk. Although he isn't expected to play a full game Tuesday, he seems to be making good progress in his recovery and should be in the mix to rejoin the Giants sometime this week or during their weekend series against the Nationals.

Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE
Rangers' Kole Calhoun: Remains out of lineup
Calhoun isn't starting Monday's game against the Astros.
Calhoun will be out of the lineup for a second consecutive game since left-hander Framber Valdez is on the mound for Houston. Adolis Garcia will start in right field and bat second.

Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL
Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Idle against lefty
Tellez is out of the lineup for the Monday's game against the Giants.
The lefty-hitting Tellez will take a seat Monday with southpaw Sam Long on the bump for San Francisco. Short-side platoon mate Keston Hiura will fill in at first base for Tellez, who went 0-for-10 with three strikeouts during the Brewers' three-game series in Philadelphia over the weekend.

Yandy Diaz DH | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Leaves yard for first time in 2022
Diaz went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Red Sox.
Fresh off being reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list, Diaz put the finishing touches on Sunday's win with the seventh-inning long ball off lefty Jake Diekman. The home run was the first of the season for Diaz, who has produced only three extra-base hits through 51 plate appearances.

Yuli Gurriel DH | SD
Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Pair of extra-base hits
Gurriel went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored Sunday against Toronto.
Gurriel was hitless through his first three at-bats, but he led off both the fifth and seventh innings with a double. He also came around to score on each occasion. Though he's hitting only .213 across 48 plate appearances on the season, Gurriel has now collected at least one hit in four of his last five games.

C.J. Cron 1B | BOS
Rockies' C.J. Cron: Tallies another RBI
Cron went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Sunday's win over Detroit.
Cron went hitless in the team's doubleheader Saturday, though he picked up his 17th RBI of the season on an infield single in the first inning one day later. He has hit nearly exclusively out of the cleanup role this season, and given his .283/.313/.667 line across 64 plate appearances this season there's no reason to expect that to change.
