Bryce Harper 1B | PHI
Phillies' Bryce Harper: In lineup despite sore knee
Harper is in the designated hitter spot Monday in St. Louis due to nagging knee soreness that's worsened since he moved to right field, Charlotte Varnes of The Athletic reports.
Harper fouled a ball off his knee before the All-Star break and hasn't been able to get over the hump with the injury. The soreness is not bad enough to prevent Harper from playing, but it's possible his time in the outfield will be limited until the discomfort goes away. Derek Hill is playing right field and Kyle Schwarber is getting a start at first base for the Phillies in Monday's series opener.

The Blue Jays recalled McAdoo from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday. He'll start at third base and bat seventh in the Blue Jays' series opener versus the Red Sox.
Toronto optioned Davis Schneider to Triple-A to open up a spot on the active roster for McAdoo. Like Schneider before him, McAdoo protects to serve as a utility player and will likely see most of his playing time against left-handed pitching. McAdoo was previously up with the Blue Jays for about three weeks earlier this season, appearing in eight games while going 4-for-25 with one home run, three RBI and two runs.

Kody Clemens 1B | MIN
Twins' Kody Clemens: Idle against southpaw Monday
Clemens is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles.
Left-hander Trevor Rogers is on the hill for the Orioles in the series opener, so the Twins will send Clemens and fellow left-handed hitters Trevor Larnach and Alan Roden to the bench to stock up on some extra right-handed bats. Clemens owns a 76 wRC+ against left-handed pitching over parts of five seasons in the majors but has been more effective in those matchups in 2026, slashing .229/.282/.448 over 104 plate appearances.

Pete Alonso 1B | BAL
Orioles' Pete Alonso: Erupts for two homers
Alonso went 3-for-3 with two home runs, two walks, four RBI and an additional run scored in Sunday's 10-5 win over the Rangers.
Alonso reached base in all five of his plate appearances and recorded his first multi-homer game as an Oriole, launching two-run shots in back-to-back at-bats. The huge performance came after Alonso entered Sunday with just one extra-base hit while batting .160 through seven August games. With 25 on the season now, he's on pace to reach 30 home runs for the seventh time in his career and sixth consecutive season, though his overall production has slipped compared to his usual standards, with a .472 slugging percentage and .818 OPS.
