Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Homers, doubles in loss
Hoskins went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and a double during Tuesday's loss to the Nationals.
Hoskins made it a one-run game with a 387-footer against Tanner Rainey in the eighth inning. Despite getting off to a slow start to the season, the 28-year-old now has 16 long balls and 16 doubles, including three homers over the last three games. Overall, he's batting .241/.312/.481 and leads the Phillies with 64 hits and 43 RBI.

Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE
Diamondbacks' Kole Calhoun: Nearing rehab assignment
Calhoun (hamstring) said he plans to begin a rehab assignment next week, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.
Calhoun previously indicated he hoped to return from the injured list by the end of June, but that won't happen with the rehab stint set to start next week. The 33-year-old hasn't fully tested his hamstring at game speed, so he figures to require a handful of games in the minors before rejoining the big-league roster.

Pete Alonso 1B | BAL
Mets' Pete Alonso: Not starting Tuesday
Alonso is out of the lineup Tuesday against Atlanta.
Alonso started the past 18 games and will take a seat after posting a .775 OPS during that stretch. Dominic Smith will shift to first base while Kevin Pillar receives the start in left field.

Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY
Cubs' Anthony Rizzo: Sitting Tuesday
Rizzo is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Cleveland.
The first baseman gets a day off amidst a tough 12-game stretch in which he's hit just .154. Rizzo has homered three times in that span, though. Kris Bryant will fill in at first base Tuesday, with Patrick Wisdom playing third.

Joey Votto 1B | TOR
Reds' Joey Votto: Out Tuesday due to suspension
Votto will serve a one-game suspension and won't be available for Tuesday's series finale in Minnesota, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
Votto's suspension stems from his ejection in the Reds' 7-5 loss to the Padres on Saturday, when he was run from the game in the first inning after arguing with the home-plate umpire on a check-swing strikeout. He was initially handed a two-game ban, but after appealing the decision, he had the suspension reduced to one game. Considering the Reds are facing a quick turnaround from Monday's 12-inning loss to the Twins with a game that begins at 1:10 p.m. ET, Tuesday represents an ideal time for Votto to serve the suspension. After a team off day Wednesday, the veteran first baseman should return to the lineup for Thursday's series opener versus Atlanta.

Joey Votto 1B | TOR
Reds' Joey Votto: Resting for day game
Votto is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.
With the Reds and Twins concluding their two-game set Tuesday with a contest that begins at 1:10 p.m. ET, Votto is most likely just getting some rest after he played all 12 innings in Monday night's 7-5 loss. Tyler Stephenson will step in at first base for Votto, who went 2-for-5 with a walk and three strikeouts in the series opener.

Jake Cronenworth 1B | SD
Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Slams ninth homer
Cronenworth went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk, three RBI and two runs in a 6-2 win against the Dodgers on Monday.
Cronenworth opened the scoring with his first-inning RBI double, walked in the second, and smashed a two-run home run in the fifth to extend the Padres' lead to 6-1. After hitting six home runs in his first 49 games, Cronenworth now has three in his last six along with three doubles.

LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW
Giants' LaMonte Wade: Optioned to Triple-A
Wade was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.
Wade had been finding himself in the lineup on a regular basis, starting five straight games in left field. He was hitting well, too, posting a .265/.344/.470 slash line through 94 plate appearances on the year. He'll head to the minors for now, with Alex Dickerson returning from a back injury to take his spot in left field, but he's seemingly earned the chance to return soon whenever the Giants next need another outfielder.

Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL
Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Cleared to hit
Cooper (back) started a throwing program and began hitting off a tee Friday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Cooper has been cleared to resume baseball activities after he was placed on the 10-day injured list June 9 with a lumbar strain. The Marlins may want to see Cooper complete a brief minor-league rehab assignment before activating him from the IL, so he could be challenged to rejoin the big club by the end of June.

Wilmer Flores 1B | SF
Giants' Wilmer Flores: Perfect day at plate
Flores went 4-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored in Sunday's 11-2 win over Philadelphia.
Flores clocked a solo shot in the first inning before collecting three singles and scoring two more runs. The veteran infielder is riding a nine-game hitting streak and hasn't struck out in his last 10 games. He improved his slash line to .263/.337/.425 with five homers and 23 runs scored through 181 plate appearances.
