Tellez (kneecap) participated in infield drills ahead of Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Tellez has been on the injured list since Sept. 12 due to a strained right patella, but he's now participating in baseball activities. A better timetable for his return should be revealed once he ramps up his activity level, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him rejoin the major-league roster late in the regular season or sometime during the postseason.

Arizona manager Torey Lovullo expects to start Calhoun in right field Wednesday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

Calhoun has yet to start in the field since coming off the injured list last Friday. He served as the designated hitter for three games over the weekend while the Diamondbacks were in Houston.

Cron went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a run and two RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Dodgers.

The first baseman keyed Colorado's offensive output in the loss, knocking home a run with a double in the fourth inning and repeating the feat in the the sixth. The performance was his second multi-hit effort in his past three games following a four-game stretch during which he went 0-for-11. Cron's first season in Colorado has been arguably the best of his big-league tenure, as he is slashing .271/.368/.526 with 27 homers and a career-high 85 RBI.

Alonso went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Alonso took Garrett Richards yard in the eighth inning record his 34th homer of the season. It was Alonso's fifth home run across 19 games in September, and he's also chipped in six doubles and two triples. Though his power totals won't reach the heights of the 2019 season, Alonso has maintained a .253 ISO while striking out at just a 20.3 percent clip across 591 plate appearances.

Rivas (finger) will miss the rest of the season after being placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Russell Dorsey of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Rivas is eligible to return for the final few games of the season, but the tendon injury in his right middle finger will instead end his campaign. The 25-year-old appeared in 18 games during his first taste of big-league action and hit .318/.388/.409 with one homer, three RBI and seven runs. Assuming he's healthy in time for spring training, Rivas should have a chance to earn a spot on Chicago's Opening Day roster in 2022.

Raley was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City and is starting Tuesday's game against the Rockies in right field, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Cody Bellinger was initially slated to start the contest, but he'll instead move to the injured list with a left rib fracture. Raley will take his spot on the 28-man roster and is set to enter Tuesday's lineup in right field, pushing Mookie Betts to center field. Raley went 10-for-59 with a double, homer and two RBI during his previous stints in the majors this season.

Rivas was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with an injury to a tendon in his right middle finger, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Rivas was penciled in to start in the outfield Tuesday versus the Twins, but he'll instead move to the injured list. The 25-year-old will be eligible to return before the end of the season, but it would only be for the last few games of the campaign.

Freeman went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Monday's win over Arizona.

The star first baseman has been mashing of late and extended his hitting streak to 10 games with another multi-hit performance -- his sixth during that stretch. Freeman is hitting .395 with a 1.073 OPS, two homers, seven RBI, three doubles, a triple and eight runs scored during his ongoing streak.

Calhoun did not play in Monday's 11-4 loss to Atlanta.

Calhoun was activated from the injured list last Friday and served as the designated hitter in all three games over the weekend in Houston, but he was held out of the starting lineup once Arizona was back in an National League city. Calhoun's usual position, right field, was occupied by Henry Ramos. The Diamondbacks are evaluating or giving opportunities to several players younger than Calhoun. It doesn't mean he won't play again this season, but the veteran may no longer be a regular presence on the diamond.

Votto went 3-for-3 with two home runs, three RBI and two walks in Monday's win over the Pirates.

The first baseman launched a two-run blast off of Dillon Peters in the third inning before going deep again in his next at-bat in the fifth. The two long balls put his season total at 33 -- his highest total since 2017. He has now reached base in seven straight contests while batting .444 with three home runs and five RBI over that stretch.
