Walker went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in a 5-0 win against the Brewers on Thursday.

Walker posted a .346/.417/.615 slash line with seven homers in August, and he carried that momentum over to the new month with his third straight multi-hit game. His first-inning, two-run homer was his first in seven games and gave him a new career high with 75 RBI. Walker is tied for sixth in the majors with 31 homers on the campaign.

Beaty was recalled from Triple-A El Paso on Thursday.

Beaty returned from the 60-day injured list in mid-August but was immediately optioned to El Paso, and he'll now rejoin the big-league club with rosters expanding to 28 players. The 29-year-old has a .364 OPS in 40 plate appearances this season and should fill a depth role while up in the majors.

The Reds selected Steer's contract from Triple-A Louisville on Thursday.

Though management hasn't yet clarified what Steer's role will look like as he joins the Reds as a September call-up, he'll presumably be installed as Cincinnati's everyday shortstop after incumbent Jose Barrero was benched in two of the last three games of August and finished the month with a .151/.180/.233 slash line. Since coming over from the Twins in the Aug. 2 deal that sent Tyler Mahle to Minnesota, Steer posted an .842 OPS and maintained a 22.1 percent strikeout rate while slugging three home runs and adding a stolen base.

Steer was informed Wednesday that he'll be called up from Triple-A Louisville, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Steer, a key part of the return for Tyler Mahle, hit .294/.375/.467 with seven doubles, three home runs and a steal in 23 games with Louisville following the trade to earn his first look at the highest level. The 24-year-old has slashed .274/.364/.515 with 23 homers and four steals in total across three stops this season. The Reds will likely be sure to maintain Steer's rookie status for next season -- keeping him under 131 at-bats the rest of the way -- but Steer figures to take over for the struggling Jose Barrero as the team's primary shortstop down the stretch.

Toglia went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to Atlanta on Wednesday.

Toglia went hitless in four at-bats in his major-league debut Tuesday, but he rebounded with a pair of hits in his second game. His big knock was a two-run homer off Kenley Jansen in the ninth inning that brought the Rockies to within a run. Toglia pounded 30 home runs over 114 contests between two minor-league levels this season. There's a lot of swing-and-miss in his profile, but there's also plenty of power in his 6-foot-5 frame.

Hoskins went 3-for-6 with two doubles, one RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Wednesday's 18-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Hoskins was one of three Phillies to log three hits in the contest that saw the team show off a balanced offense. His pair of doubles got him up to 25 for the fourth time in the last five years, with the exception being the shortened 2020 campaign. The first baseman has gone 10-for-29 (.345) with four multi-hit efforts in his last seven games, though he's gone 14 contests without a home run. He's slashing .251/.343/.472 with 26 long balls, 66 RBI, 70 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases through 129 games this year.

Montero isn't starting Wednesday against Atlanta.

Montero went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI on Tuesday but will be on the bench for the fourth time in the last six games. The rookie looks to be trending toward moving into a part-time role with the arrival of fellow prospects Michael Toglia and Sean Bouchard from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.

Bell went 1-for-4 with a base hit and an RBI in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Giants.

Bell will take a six-game hitting streak and three-game RBI streak into Wednesday's series finale in San Francisco. He'll start at first base and bat cleanup as the Padres go for the three-game sweep.

Tellez (knee) is starting Wednesday against the Pirates, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Tellez didn't play Tuesday due to a knee injury, but he'll serve as the designated hitter and bat third during Wednesday's series finale. Over his last four games, he's gone 3-for-11 with a homer, two runs, five walks and a strikeout.

Walker went 3-for-4 with a double, a hit-by-pitch and two runs scored in Tuesday's 12-3 win over the Phillies.

Walker is swinging a hot bat in August, going 34-for-100 (.340) through 27 contests. Eight of those games have been multi-hit efforts, and he's added seven home runs, seven doubles, 21 RBI and 23 runs scored. The strong month has lifted his season slash line to a serviceable .231/.330/.478 with 30 homers, 73 RBI, 68 runs scored and 19 doubles through 126 contests overall.
