Cooper is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Cooper finds himself on the bench for the second straight game and the fourth time in San Diego's past six. It appears the 32-year-old won't have an everyday spot in the lineup down the stretch, with Jurickson Profar and Ji-Man Choi in the mix at first base.

Freeman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Seattle.

The Dodgers clinched the NL West title Saturday, so Freeman will receive his first day off of the season. The veteran first baseman has taken a small step back at the plate through 14 games in September with a .302/.403/.434 slash line, though his .983 OPS for the campaign still has him in the thick of the race for NL MVP.

Rivas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Yankees, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Rivas has a .721 OPS through 13 games in September and will head to the bench Sunday with southpaw Carlos Rodon pitching for New York. Jared Triolo will take over at first base and bat seventh.

Gurriel went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and two runs scored in Saturday's victory over Atlanta.

Gurriel's three-run shot in the bottom of the first gave the Marlins a 4-3 lead after Atlanta jumped out in front early. He later added a single in the eighth before coming around to score on a Jazz Chisholm grand slam, giving the first baseman his first multi-hit game since Aug. 6. Gurriel has now tallied five RBI over his last four games while also scoring four runs and walking three times over that stretch.

Encarnacion-Strand went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a stolen base in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Mets.

Getting the start at third base and batting seventh, Encarnacion-Strand delivered what proved to be the winning runs when he lofted a Tylor Megill fastball over the fence in right-center field in the fourth inning. Encarnacion-Strand hasn't been seeing regular playing time lately on a crowded Reds roster, but the 23-year-old has been making the most of his opportunities, slashing .325/.357/.525 through 12 games in September with two doubles, two homers, four runs and five RBI.

Wade will sit for the second half of Saturday's doubleheader against Colorado, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Wade went 1-for-3 with a solo homer, a walk and a pair of runs scored in the afternoon game. With lefty Kyle Freeland on the mound for the nightcap, Wade will hit the bench as Wilmer Flores slides over to first base.

Steer will sit Saturday against the Mets.

Steer owns an .837 OPS in the month of September and an .808 OPS on the year, but he'll hit the bench after starting 35 consecutive games. The timing of his off day is somewhat unusual given that he's homered in each of his last two games, but it seems to be merely a routine rest day.

Cooper will sit Saturday against Oakland.

Cooper owns a .485 OPS over his last 12 games, well below the .869 OPS he managed over his first 18 games as a Padre. Ji-Man Choi will handle first base Saturday.

Freeman went 0-for-3 with a stolen base and a run Friday in a 6-3 victory versus Seattle.

Freeman reached on a hit-by-pitch in the eighth inning, swiped second base and reached third on an error. He then scored an important insurance run on a J.D. Martinez single. Freeman has gone 19-for-20 in stolen-base attempts this season, tacking significant value onto his typically outstanding slash line (.336/.414/.573) and power numbers (26 homers, 55 doubles, 93 RBI). The running aspect of his game has blossomed in his first two seasons with the Dodgers -- he's nabbed 32 thefts so far in that span after topping out at 10 steals across 12 years with Atlanta.

Santana went 2-for-3 with a walk and two solo home runs in Friday's 5-3 win over the Nationals.

The veteran first baseman accounted for Milwaukee's final two runs of the night, getting hold of a Jake Irvin sinker in the fifth inning before launching a Hunter Harvey fastball deep to right field in the eighth. Santana is putting together a strong September as the Brewers push for the NL Central title, slashing .280/.357/.480 through 13 games with three of his 21 homers on the season.
