Elehuris Montero 1B | COL
Rockies' Elehuris Montero: Bright spot with solo homer
Montero went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Dodgers.
Montero produced the only run for the Rockies in the contest with a fifth-inning solo shot off future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw. The long ball was a much-needed lift in a rough August so far for the infielder, as he came into Thursday batting just 3-for-29 with 15 strikeouts through seven games. Montero's woes weren't entirely solved despite the homer -- he struck out in each of his other two at-bats.

Spencer Steer LF | CIN
Reds' Spencer Steer: Homers in loss
Steer went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to Miami
Steer belted the first of two homers that put the Reds on top in the fourth inning, but it was not enough to prevent the club's eighth loss in nine games. It's been a tough homestand for Steer, who is just 3-for-21 over those six games at Great American Ball Park .

Josh Bell DH | MIN
Marlins' Josh Bell: Launches two homers in win
Bell went 2-for-4 with two homers and four RBI in Wednesday's 5-4 victory over the Reds.
Bell took Graham Ashcraft deep to left field to lead off the top of the fourth, giving the Marlins their first run of the game. Then, with Miami down three in the eighth, the first baseman launched his second home run of the day, this time a three-run shot, to make it tie game. Bell has now hit safely in four straight games while it marked his second multi-hit game since joining the Marlins. It was also his first multi-home run game of the 2023 campaign.

Pete Alonso 1B | BAL
Mets' Pete Alonso: Continues power surge
Alonso went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run, two walks and a stolen base in a 4-3 victory versus the Cubs on Wednesday.
Alonso did what he does best in the fourth inning, tying the contest with a two-run shot off Kyle Hendricks. It was his third straight game with a homer and pushed his season total to 35, third-most in the majors. Alonso needs just five more home runs to match last season's total of 40, and he could even feasibly challenge his career-best mark of 53 long balls that he established as a rookie in 2019.

Pete Alonso 1B | BAL
Mets' Pete Alonso: Goes deep again
Alonso went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Cubs.
Alonso's first-inning, two-run homer was initially ruled a double, but it was confirmed to have cleared the center-field fence upon review, giving him three long balls in two days. After a tough start to the second half, the 28-year-old slugger has returned to form, boasting a remarkable 1.171 OPS over his last 17 games, including eight home runs, 22 RBI and 12 runs scored in 73 plate appearances during that stretch.

Elehuris Montero 1B | COL
Rockies' Elehuris Montero: Heads to bench amid struggles
Montero is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.
Montero's stretch of eight consecutive starts will come to an end Wednesday as utility man Cole Tucker replaces him in the lineup for the series finale. Though injuries to Kris Bryant (finger) and Charlie Blackmon (hand) have opened up everyday playing time for him, Montero has yet to take advantage of the opportunity. Since being recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on July 25, Montero is hitting .195 with three extra-base hits (one home run, two doubles) and a 46.5 percent strikeout rate in 11 games.

Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Tacks on three more hits
Freeman went 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Diamondbacks.
Freeman has multiple hits in seven of his last nine games, going 20-for-38 (.526) in that impressive span. The first baseman leads the majors and ranks second with a 1.016 OPS through 112 contests. He's batting a stellar .343 with 23 home runs, 81 RBI, 100 runs scored and 16 stolen bases in what could end up being a career year for one of baseball's most consistent players.
