  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Homers in Saturday's win

Cronenworth went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, a hit-by-pitch and an additional RBI in Saturday's 7-0 win over the Guardians.

Cronenworth was part of both of the Padres' rallies in the contest. He was plunked with the bases loaded to force in a run in the fourth inning before going deep in the eighth. The infielder is batting .267 (12-for-45) with four extra-base hits and five RBI over 13 games in July. For the year, he's at a .260/.328/.438 slash line, 14 homers, 58 RBI, 50 runs scored, 19 doubles, two triples and two stolen bases through 96 contests. Cronenworth is likely to remain in the lineup regularly, though it's expected he'll move between first base and designated hitter most of the time, sharing those positions with Luis Arraez.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Idle versus LHP

Wade isn't in San Francisco's lineup Saturday against the Rockies, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The left-handed Wade will take a seat Saturday as the Giants prepare to face fellow southpaw Kyle Freeland. While Wade sits, Wilmer Flores will start at first base and bat fifth.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Pirates' Rowdy Tellez: Sitting down versus lefty

Tellez isn't in the Pirates' lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies.

Southpaw Cristopher Sanchez will start on the bump for the Phillies, meaning the lefty-hitting Tellez will begin Saturday's contest on the bench. Connor Joe will fill in at first base and bat third.

  • Juan Yepez 1B | TOR

Nationals' Juan Yepez: Two more hits, first homer

Yepez went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and a second run scored in Friday's 8-5 win over Cincinnati.

Yepez took Frankie Montas deep in the third inning, driving a two-strike pitch over the left-field fence to extend Washington's lead to 7-1. It's the first homer of the year for Yepez, though he's swung the bat well since he was called up July 5 -- the outfielder has at least one hit in all 11 games he's appeared in. Overall, Yepez is slashing an eye-popping .390/.468/.610 with six RBI and eight runs scored across 47 plate appearances as he continues to make a case for an everyday role.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Knocks in two

Walker went 1-for-3 with two RBI in Friday's 5-2 win over the Cubs.

Walker brought home the eventual winning run with a two-run single in the third inning. The two RBI gave him a team-high 68 over 98 games. Walker is locked in as the Diamondbacks' cleanup hitter and gets plenty of RBI opportunities; he has a .915 OPS with runners in scoring position.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Flips game with grand slam

Freeman went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Friday's 4-1 win over the Red Sox.

The Dodgers hadn't mustered much offense until the eighth inning. Coming up with the bases loaded, Freeman cashed in with a blast off Brennan Bernardino. This was Freeman's 15th homer of the year, and he's hit four of them while adding 19 RBI over his last 18 games. The first baseman is at a .291/.394/.497 slash line with 65 RBI, 58 runs scored, 25 doubles and five stolen bases across 98 contests this season.

  • Kris Bryant RF | COL

Rockies' Kris Bryant: Beginning rehab assignment Friday

Bryant (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Bryant will play in all three games for Albuquerque over the weekend before being re-evaluated by team doctors. In his last 10 games prior to being placed on the injured list June 6 due to a left rib contusion and oblique strain, Bryant had gone 9-for-35 with one home run and four RBI, which actually brought his season slash line up to .186/.307/.279.

  • Joey Gallo LF | CHW

Nationals' Joey Gallo: Could resume running next week

Gallo (hamstring) could begin a running program next week, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Gallo resumed baseball activities earlier this month, but running will be the big test as he comes back from a strained left hamstring that has sidelined him since June 11. He will require a rehab assignment before returning and wouldn't seem to be guaranteed anything in regard to playing time upon his activation.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | SF

Padres' Luis Arraez: In lineup Friday

Arraez (thumb) will DH and bat leadoff for Friday's game against the Guardians.

Arraez has been nursing a jammed left thumb and opted to sit out the All-Star Game to let the injury heal. However, the issue won't require him to miss any time for the Padres, and he'll fill his regular leadoff spot during Friday's series opener against Cleveland. The 27-year-old is slashing .310/.342/.378 across 416 plate appearances this season.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | SF

Padres' Luis Arraez: Out of All-Star Game with thumb injury

Arraez will attend All-Star festivities in Texas but won't play for the National League in Tuesday's game due to a jammed left thumb, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Arraez first hurt the thumb while sliding into third base June 25. He has played in all but two of San Diego's games since then, most recently sitting out Sunday's 6-3 loss to Atlanta. While Arraez has mostly been able to remain in the lineup despite the injury, he admitted that the thumb hurts "a lot" when he swings and catches the ball. The issue probably won't be anything that causes him to miss much, if any, additional time in games that count, but he'll use the All-Star break to rest the jammed thumb rather than risking further injury in the exhibition contest.
