Ty France 1B | SD
Mariners' Ty France: On bench Friday
France is not in the lineup for Friday's game against Cleveland.
France has endured a very rough time at the plate lately, grabbing just two hits in his last 11 games. Mitch Haniger will rest his legs as the designated hitter Friday, with Sam Haggerty starting in right field.

Evan White 1B | LAA
Mariners' Evan White: Not starting Friday
White is not in the lineup for Friday's game against Cleveland.
Jarred Kelenic's arrival Thursday doesn't directly impact White, as Kelenic is strictly an outfielder, but it could still have an indirect effect throughout the roster. Jose Marmolejos, who's spent time both in the outfield and at first base, will start in White's place Friday.

Yuli Gurriel DH | SD
Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Rejoins Friday's lineup
Gurriel (illness) is starting at first base and batting fifth Friday against the Rangers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
The 36-year-old sat out Thursday after exiting Wednesday's contest while feeling under the weather, but he's good to go Friday. Gurriel has a .952 OPS with three homers, four doubles, 14 RBI and seven runs in 11 games since the start of May.

Jose Abreu 1B | HOU
White Sox's Jose Abreu: Managing facial bruise, laceration
Abreu is considered day-to-day with a facial bruise and laceration after leaving the first game of Friday's doubleheader against the Royals. He tested negative for a concussion during the initial diagnosis.
The 34-year-old appears to have escaped serious injury after a hard collusion with Hunter Dozier during Friday's matinee. Abreu hasn't been ruled out but is unlikely to be available for the second game of the twin bill.

Jose Abreu 1B | HOU
White Sox's Jose Abreu: Exits after collision
Abreu was removed from the first game of Friday's doubleheader against the Royals after a collision with Hunter Dozier, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.
Abreu was running down a popup from Dozier in between first base and home plate during the second inning, leading to a hard collision in the baseline. Both players remained down on the field for a few minutes before being removed from the contest. Abreu should be considered day-to-day and is likely unavailable for Friday's nightcap.

Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW
Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Homers in return
Dalbec went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 8-1 win over the Athletics.
Dalbec was back in the lineup after sitting the previous two games, while Michael Chavis filled in at first base. Chavis started at second base Thursday, hit two doubles and scored two runs. Dalbec's inconsistent start to the season could open an opportunity for Chavis to get more playing time at first, if he significantly outplays Dalbec while up with the Red Sox.

Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL
White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Delivers run in win
Vaughn went 1-for-2 with two walks and an RBI in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Twins.
Vaughn's sixth-inning single plated Yoan Moncada with what eventually became the winning run. It was the second consecutive game with an RBI for Vaughn, who has knocked in five runs over the last eight games. The rookie began the season with just one RBI over his first 17 contests.

Luke Voit 1B | NYM
Yankees' Luke Voit: Gets breather Thursday
Voit is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rays.
The Yankees are likely just building in a rest day for Voit after he started both of the past two days following his return from the 10-day injured list. The early returns weren't overly promising (0-for-6 with a walk), but Voit should gradually settle in at the plate once he gets more at-bats under his belt. Mike Ford will fill in for Voit at first base Thursday.

Yuli Gurriel DH | SD
Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Sitting with illness
Gurriel (illness) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rangers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Gurriel will get a full day to rest up and recover after he was removed from Wednesday's 9-1 win over the Angels when he fell victim to an illness. Aledmys Diaz will fill in at first base for Gurriel, who will hope to return to the lineup Friday.

Triston Casas 1B | BOS
Red Sox's Triston Casas: Erupts in Hartford
Casas went 4-for-6 with two home runs, six RBI and three runs scored for Double-A Portland in Wednesday's win over Hartford.
Casas entered the night batting .182 with 11 strikeouts over 25 at-bats before erupting against the Yard Goats. The offensive explosion raised his average 104 points while his OPS soared to .891. "Those first few games were tough," Casas told Michael Avallone of MLB.com. "I think I was trying to do too much last week. Tonight I just shortened up my approach, didn't go out of the [strike zone] and had some success." Casas is ranked as the organization's No. 1 or 2 prospect depending on the source. He came up as a third baseman but has played only first base for the Sea Dogs in 2021.
