  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Heating up

Abreu went 2-for-5 with a triple, three RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 13-8 win over the Twins.

Abreu logged a third straight multi-RBI performance and is batting .370 (10-for-27) with six extra-base hits and 12 RBI over the last seven games. He's moved up the RBI ladder and ranks tied for second in MLB with 31 runs driven in. The White Sox are 11-1 when Abreu knocks in a run and 6-1 since his hot streak began.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Cranks first career homer

Vaughn went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and two additional runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Twins.

Vaughn smacked his first career home run Wednesday in the fourth inning off J.A. Happ. The rookie was finally able to show off his raw power against the Twins. He is getting consistent playing time now with Luis Robert (hip) and Eloy Jimenez (pectoral) out long term. Vaughn isn't the greatest outfielder, but that is where he will receive the majority of his starts.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: Launches eighth homer

Olson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Red Sox.

His sixth-inning blast off Eduardo Rodriguez capped the scoring for the A's. Olson had gone just 3-for-26 (.115) in the eight games since his last long ball, but on the season, the first baseman is still hitting a solid .267 with eight homers and 22 RBI through 32 contests.

  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Exits while 'feeling sick'

Manager Dusty Baker said Gurriel was removed from Wednesday's win over the Angels because the first baseman was suddenly "feeling sick," Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The 36-year-old went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer before being replaced in the field for the top of the eighth inning. It's unclear if the ailment will affect Gurriel's availability for Thursday's series opener against the Rangers.

  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Sitting again Wednesday

Dalbec isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Dalbec will be out of the lineup for a second straight game after he went 2-for-12 with a double, two RBI and three strikeouts in his last three appearances. Michael Chavis will start at first base and bat ninth.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Blue Jays' Rowdy Tellez: Odd man out with no DH

Tellez is out of the lineup for Thursday's game in Atlanta.

For the second straight day, Tellez will take a seat with no designated hitter spot available for the Blue Jays in Atlanta. Unless manager Charlie Montoyo chooses to give Vladimir Guerrero a day off Thursday, Tellez will likely be on the bench again in the series finale.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Powers Blue Jays to win

Guerrero went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Braves.

Guerrero failed to get on in his first two at-bats but tied up the game in the sixth with a two-run homer to right field and then evened it up again in the eighth with an RBI single. The 22-year-old is top 10 in baseball in batting average (.322), on-base percentage (.452) and OPS (1.028). He's hit eight home runs to go with 25 runs and 26 RBI to go along with an impressive 25:25 BB:K.

  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Cranks three-run homer

Gurriel went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in the Astros' 5-1 win Tuesday over the Angels.

Gurriel provided key insurance runs with his eighth-inning shot off Alex Claudio. He's reached base safely 10 times in his last five games. The 37-year-old leads the Astros in extra-base hits (17), RBI (28), walks (18) and OPS (.970). He is slashing .333/.412/.558 in 148 plate appearances.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Another productive performance

Abreu went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and three runs scored Tuesday against the Twins.

Abreu took Jorge Alcala yard in the sixth inning to record his seventh homer of the season. After a slow start to the campaign, Abreu has now collected at least one hit in five of his last six games. In that span he's collected nine RBI and scored six runs. For the season, Abreu is now hitting .231/.329/.446 with 18 runs scored and 28 RBI across 143 plate appearances.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Blue Jays' Rowdy Tellez: No spot in NL park

Tellez will be on the bench Tuesday in Atlanta.

The Blue Jays' lineup has one fewer spot available with the series being played under National League rules. Tellez wasn't going to push Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to the bench, so he'll sit this one out. He may find himself stuck on the bench all series unless the team elects to give Guerrero a rest.
