  • Nick Pratto 1B | TEX

    Royals' Nick Pratto: Heating up

Pratto has gone 7-for-12 with a double and two homers across the last three games for Triple-A Omaha, lifting his season line to .253/323/.494 with five homers, 16 RBI and two steals.

Pratto opened this season in an ugly slump, striking out at an alarming pace, but he's tightened up his approach at the dish recently, drawing more walks and trimming that whiff rate a bit. There's still a lot of swing-and-miss in his game, but that becomes a lot easier to forgive when you consider that he's hit 41 homers and swiped 14 bags across his last 145 minor-league games. With incumbent first baseman Carlos Santana batting .159 with just one homer this year, Pratto will certainly have the opportunity to hit his way into a midseason promotion.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Multi-hit effort in loss

France went 2-for-4 in the Mariners' loss to the Astros on Monday.

France mustered the only multi-hit effort of the night for the listless Mariners, who were shut out by Jake Odorizzi and three relievers. While Monday marked the first time since April 24 that France recorded more than one hit in a game, he's by no means cooled off much, reaching safely in six of his last seven contests.

  • Yandy Diaz DH | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Slugs leadoff homer

Diaz went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 6-1 win over the A's.

Diaz was moved up to the leadoff spot for the first time in over two weeks Monday, and the decision immediately paid off as he slugged a 407-foot homer to begin the contest. He later singled to register his third multi-hit performance over his past four games. Diaz has been one of Tampa Bay's top hitters this season, slashing .306/.442/.435 with two homers, five RBI and 10 runs over 77 plate appearances.

Rays' Yandy Diaz: On bench Monday

Diaz isn't starting Monday's game against Oakland, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Diaz started in six straight games to close out April, and he went 6-for-17 with a homer, three runs, two RBI and seven walks during that time. However, he'll now be out of the lineup for a second consecutive matchup while Taylor Walls starts at the hot corner and bats eighth.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Won't play Monday

Vaughn (hand) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.

Vaughn is apparently still dealing with some bruising and/or soreness in his right hand after being struck by a pitch in Friday's 5-1 loss to Los Angeles, so he'll remain on the bench for a third straight game in Monday's series finale. White Sox manager Tony La Russa noted Sunday that Vaughn has been able to swing the bat since suffering the injury, so the 24-year-old could be available Monday in a pinch-hitting capacity.

  • Gabriel Arias 3B | CLE

Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Out several weeks with broken hand

Arias suffered a fractured right hand while playing for Triple-A Columbus in the affiliate's 8-7 win over Louisville. He's set to undergo further testing, but he'll be placed on the 7-day injured list and is expected to miss several weeks.

Arias is one of Cleveland's more interesting infield prospects and earned his first call-up earlier this season, though he was quickly moved back to the minors. He's mostly struggled through 17 games for Columbus, however, hitting .197/.269/.380 with a 32.1 percent strikeout rate. As a result of the injury, he won't get the chance to right the ship any time soon.

  • Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Gets Sunday off

Torkelson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Harold Castro will draw the start at first base while Torkelson exits the lineup for the first time since April 11. The rookie's move to the bench comes after a rough four-game stretch in which he went 1-for-14 with a walk and seven strikeouts.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Rangers' Kole Calhoun: Sits versus lefty

Calhoun is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

The lefty-hitting Calhoun will bow out of the lineup with southpaw Kyle Muller on the hill for Atlanta, ending a streak of five consecutive starts for the veteran outfielder. He went 2-for-18 over that stretch to sink his season-long slash line to an ugly .164/.193/.182 across 57 plate appearances.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Gets breather Sunday

Rizzo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Rizzo will get a well-deserved breather after he started in each of the Yankees' last 11 games while turning in a monstrous 1.195 OPS fueled by six home runs and three doubles. DJ LeMahieu will fill in for Rizzo as the Yankees' first baseman.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Could return Monday

Vaughn (hand) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

Vaughn will take a seat for the second straight game due to the right hand injury he suffered in Friday's 5-1 loss in the series opener, though he's not dealing with any structural damage after X-rays returned negative. According to James Fegan of The Athletic, manager Tony La Russa said Vaughn's hand is still sore, but the 24-year-old has been able to swing the bat and may be allowed to pinch hit Sunday. Even if Vaughn goes unused off the bench Sunday, he could still rejoin the lineup for Monday's series finale.
