    Schanuel is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

    Schanuel's run of five consecutive starts will come to an end while the Angels give the lefty-hitting rookie a breather against Athletics southpaw Kyle Muller. Brandon Drury will spell Schnauel at first base and bat third in the series finale.

    Guardians' Josh Naylor: Returns from IL, starting Sunday

    Naylor (oblique) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Sunday and is batting third as the designated hitter versus the Rays.

    Naylor has been sidelined for the past month with an oblique strain, but he's ready to rejoin the Guardians after a three-game rehab stint with Double-A Akron. The 26-year-old has a .306/.346/.500 slash line with 15 home runs, six steals, 79 RBI and 41 runs through 96 games this season, and he'll reclaim an everyday spot in Cleveland's lineup for the stretch.

    Twins' Donovan Solano: Sits in series finale

    Solano is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

    Despite delivering a four-hit performance in Saturday's 9-7 win and maintaining a .395/.430/.481 batting line since Aug. 1, Solano will hit the bench Sunday for the second straight matchup with a right-handed pitcher (Jon Gray). Minnesota will roll out the same lineup they used against right-hander Max Scherzer in Friday's series opener, with Joey Gallo spelling Solano at first base once again.

    Royals' Matt Beaty: Idle versus lefty

    Beaty is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

    The lefty-hitting Beaty will head to the bench Sunday with southpaw Chris Sale on the hill for Boston. While Beaty sits, the Royals will hand a start at first base to Matt Duffy in the series finale.

    Mariners' Ty France: Not starting Sunday

    France (elbow) isn't in the Mariners' lineup Sunday against the Mets.

    France was pulled from Saturday's game after taking a pitch off his right elbow, and he'll sit out Sunday's contest as he recovers. Mike Ford will fill in at first base and bat seventh.

    Red Sox's Triston Casas: Clubs 22nd homer

    Casas went 2-for-4 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Royals.

    The first baseman hammered an Alec Marsh curveball 407 feet to right-center field in the first inning to help kick-start a big night for the Boston offense. Casas is slashing .301/.404/.538 in 29 games since the beginning of August with six of his 22 homers and 15 of his 55 RBI on the season.

  • Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Goes 3-for-4 in rout

    Torkelson went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 10-0 victory over the White Sox.

    The 24-year-old got the best of Mike Clevinger, lacing a single and a pair of run-scoring doubles off the White Sox starter. Across Torkelson's previous 10 games, the second-year first baseman hit just .086 (3-for-35) with 15 strikeouts. However, Saturday's impressive performance improved his season-long slash line to .230/.316/.437, and he now has 24 home runs, 71 RBI, and 74 runs in 574 plate appearances.

    Twins' Donovan Solano: Swats homer in four-hit game

    Solano went 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in a 9-7 extra-inning win over Texas on Saturday.

    Solano put the first run on the board for Minnesota with his third-inning solo shot to left field. He came up big again in the fourth, knocking a two-run, two-out single to give the Twins their first lead. Solano finished with a season-high four knocks for his fifth multi-hit game over his past seven contests. He's batting a scorching .481 with seven RBI and five runs over that stretch.

    Mariners' Ty France: Exits with elbow contusion

    France was lifted from Saturday's game versus the Mets with a right elbow contusion, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

    He was struck by a Grant Hartwig pitch in the sixth inning and immediately left the game. It's not clear at this point whether France has undergone X-rays, but more should be available on his status after the game. The first baseman went 1-for-2 with a single prior to the hit-by-pitch.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Not starting Saturday

    Mountcastle isn't in the Orioles' lineup Saturday against the Diamondbacks, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

    Mountcastle gets a day off after going 8-for-22 with a homer, four RBI and two runs scored in his last six games. Adley Rutschman will serve as the Orioles' DH while James McCann starts behind the dish.
