  • Steelers' Derrick Harmon: Unnoteworthy rookie campaign

Harmon recorded 27 total tackles (11 solo), including 3.0 sacks, while also adding a pass defensed and a fumble recovery over 12 games during the 2025 regular season. Harmon opened the season on the sidelines after suffering a sprained MCL in late August, but he was only forced to miss two contests. The 2025 first-round pick then hit the ground running, securing seven total takedowns, including 2.0 sacks, over his first three games. Harmon then became somewhat of background character on the Steelers defense for the rest of the regular season, ultimately missing three more contests with a separate knee injury in late November and early December. The defensive lineman did leave his mark on Pittsburgh's 30-6 loss to the Texans in the wild-card round though, notching six tackles, one which was a sack. Harmon will enter the 2026 campaign looking to make a second-year leap with the Steelers.

  • Steelers' Derrick Harmon: Practicing fully

Harmon (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports. Harmon hasn't played since Week 12 but appears to be ready to return to the lineup for Sunday's Week 16 date with the Lions. The first-round rookie defensive lineman has produced 22 tackles (nine solo), including 2.0 sacks, one pass breakup and one fumble recovery across 331 defensive snaps this season.

  • Steelers' Derrick Harmon: Won't play MNF

Harmon (knee) is inactive for Monday's game against the Dolphins. Harmon gave himself a chance to play against Miami after logging a limited practice Saturday, but the rookie first-rounder will end up missing a third consecutive game due to a lingering knee injury. Harmon appears to be progressing in his recovery given his questionable tag for Week 15, and his next opportunity to play is Sunday against the Lions. Rookie fifth-rounder Yahya Black has seen a significant increase in his snap count in the two games Harmon missed, so the former should continue to work in an expanded role on the Steelers' defensive line.

  • Steelers' Derrick Harmon: Deemed questionable for Monday

Harmon (knee) is officially questionable to play against the Dolphins on Monday. Harmon missed Pittsburgh's first two practices this week due to a lingering knee injury, but he was able to log a limited session Saturday to give himself at least a chance to play Monday. If he does take the field, it will end a streak of two straight absences. Harmon has typically logged around a 50 percent defensive snap share when he's suited up this season.

  • Steelers' Derrick Harmon: Sits out practice Thursday

Harmon (knee) did not practice Thursday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports. Harmon has missed back-to-back games due to his lingering knee injury, and his status remains uncertain for Monday's game against the Dolphins. • Steelers' Derrick Harmon: Ruled out again

Harmon (knee) has been ruled out of the Steelers' Week 14 matchup with the Ravens, Missi Matthews of the Steelers' official site reports. Harmon will now miss consecutive games due to a knee injury he suffered in the Week 12 loss to the Bears. The rookie first-rounder has logged 22 tackles (nine solo), including 2.0 sacks, one pass defensed, and one fumble recovery through nine games this season. With the defensive tackle absent against the Bills in Week 13, Yahya Black saw a significant uptick in defensive snaps and is likely in line for a similar workload against the Ravens this coming Sunday.

  • Steelers' Derrick Harmon: Ruled out for Week 13

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that Harmon has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bills, due to a knee injury, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Harmon played his normal allotment of defensive snaps in Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Bears, recording four tackles (two solo) on 48 percent of the downs. The rookie defensive tackle may have tweaked his knee at some point along the way, though Tomlin indicated that Harmon's latest injury is unrelated to the MCL sprain that he sustained during the preseason, per Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com. Esezi Otomewo could end up seeing increased reps along Pittsburgh's defensive line while Harmon is sidelined for at least one game.

  • Steelers' Derrick Harmon: Cleared to make NFL debut

Harmon (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Patriots. After logging limited sessions Wednesday and Thursday, Harmon was upgraded to a full participant Friday and deemed questionable. The rookie first-round pick will shake off the injury designation and make his NFL debut in Week 3 after missing the first two games due to an MCL sprain he suffered in Pittsburgh's preseason finale. Defensive coordinator Teryl Austin said Harmon would be eased into the rotation, so expect limited snaps from the 6-foot-3, 313-pound defensive lineman.

  • Steelers' Derrick Harmon: Not playing Week 2 vs. Seattle

Head coach Mike Tomlin announced Tuesday that Harmon (knee) has been ruled out for the Steelers' Week 2 contest against the Seahawks on Sunday, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports. Harmon is recovering from an MCL sprain that he suffered toward the tail end of training camp. The timeline for a return is 4-to-6 weeks, so the rookie first-rounder could be available to make his NFL regular-season debut Week 3 against the Patriots on Sunday, Sept. 21. Isaiahh Loudermilk started in the Steelers' Week 1 win over the Jets and will continue to serve that role for as long as Harmon is sidelined.

  • Steelers' Derrick Harmon: Out for Week 1

Coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Harmon (knee) will not play in Sunday's Week 1 game against the Jets, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports. Harmon suffered a sprained MCL on Aug. 21 during a preseason contest and was given a recovery timeline of four-to-six weeks, so his absence for Week 1 doesn't come as a surprise. Logan Lee and Isaiahh Loudermilk figure to see increased reps along Pittsburgh's defensive line.

  • Steelers' Derrick Harmon: MCL sprain confirmed

Harmon is expected to be out 4-to-6 weeks with an MCL sprain, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Because Harmon picked up the injury during Pittsburgh's final preseason game at Carolina, there's optimism that he may have to miss only two or three regular-season games. As a result, it's not anticipated that he'll be placed on the Steelers' injured reserve list. Once available, he projects to play a significant role on Pittsburgh's defensive line alongside Cameron Heyward and Keeanu Benton.
