  • Makai Lemon WR | PHI

Eagles' Makai Lemon: Spotted sprinting on side field

Lemon (hamstring) was spotted sprinting on the side at Monday's practice, EJ Smith of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

This is the first sign of progress since Lemon initially started missing practices, along with Saturday's preseason contest at Baltimore, due to a hamstring issue. The rookie first-round pick's next chance for exhibition action before the regular season arrives this coming Saturday in New England.

  • Chiefs' Xavier Worthy: Partakes in 7-on-7 drills

Worthy (shoulder) participated in 7-on-7 drills Monday, Pete Sweeney of The Kansas City Star reports.

Though Worthy is not yet back to full-team drills, his participation in 7-on-7 is still a step in the right direction. Worthy did not play in the preseason opener, and it's unclear if he'll suit up for any of the upcoming exhibitions as he works his way back to 100 percent from a shoulder injury. Getting back into 11-on-11 work will be the next big step for Worthy's progression.

  • Trey Smith G | KC

Chiefs' Trey Smith: Progressing toward return

Smith (hip) is nearing a return and trending towards being available for Week 1, Charles Goldman of AtoZSports.com reports.

The veteran has been hampered by a hip injury of late, but it was not expected to impact his availability for the regular season. Coach Andy Reid would not commit to Smith being back for Saturday's preseason game against the Buccaneers, but a return is seemingly on the horizon.

  • Tank Bigsby RB | PHI

Eagles' Tank Bigsby: Sitting Monday with toe issue

Bigsby won't practice Monday due to a toe injury, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.

Bigsby started Saturday's preseason game in Baltimore with No. 1 RB Saquon Barkley getting the day off, but the former managed just five yards on two carries and didn't haul in his only target. Now with an injury in tow, Bigsby will join backfield mate Dameon Pierce (hamstring) on the sideline, leaving Will Shipley, Carson Steele and Ja'Quinden Jackson as the healthy reserves at the position behind Barkley.

  • Chris Bell WR | MIA

Dolphins' Chris Bell: Starting with individual work

Bell (knee) was limited to individual drills in his return to practice Monday, Alain Poupart of SI.com reports.

The Dolphins are getting Bell into the mix now that he is off the non-football injury list. It will be a ramp-up period for the rookie receiver out of Louisville who suffered a torn ACL late in his final collegiate season. Bell's impressive progress in his rehab seems to move up his timeline for a debut. If he continues to make strides, Bell will be a name to file away for the later rounds of best ball drafts or for waiver-wire watch lists in redraft formats.

  • Makai Lemon WR | PHI

Eagles' Makai Lemon: Will not practice Monday

Lemon (hamstring) remains sidelined at Monday's practice, Andrew DiCecco of InsideTheBirds.com reports.

Lemon hasn't logged any on-field work since first missing practice Aug. 4 due to a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, fellow WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) appears as if he's putting an end to his absence that also extends back to Aug. 4, per Olivia Reiner of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Considering the investment the Eagles made in Lemon as a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the team likely will continue to take a cautious approach with the rookie.

  • Max Iheanachor OT | PIT

Steelers' Max Iheanachor: Likely out preseason Week 2

Iheanachor (shoulder) is unlikely to play in Friday's preseason game against the Jets, Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The Steelers' first-round pick from the 2026 NFL Draft has been battling a shoulder injury since early August and is missing valuable reps. Coach Mike McCarthy told reporters that they will reevaluate Iheanachor on Wednesday when the team resumes practice.

  • DeVonta Smith WR | PHI

Eagles' DeVonta Smith: Appears prepared to practice

Smith (hamstring) is suited up in advance of Monday's practice, Olivia Reiner of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Smith initially hit the sidelines Aug. 4 due to a hamstring injury, but in recent days he was seen working on the side last Thursday before taking part in pregame warmups before Saturday's preseason game at Baltimore, which he sat out. Ultimately, he appears to be closing in on a return to practice.

  • Drake Maye QB | NE

Patriots' Drake Maye: Sharp at Monday's practice session

Maye completed every pass during the first two periods of practice Monday, including a deep ball to A.J. Brown, Taylor Kyles of CLNSMedia.com reports.

The star quarterback is building chemistry with his new targets, Brown and Romeo Doubs. Maye hit Brown on a deep shot and had multiple completions to Doubs, according to Kyles. After a standout second season, Maye is looking to continue his ascent with the help of some new star power out wide.

  • Sean Brown LB | TEN

    Sean Brown: Waived by Titans

Brown was waived/injured by the Titans on Monday.

The rookie out of North Carolina State made one tackle in Tennessee's preseason opener against San Francisco. Brown is now set to go on waivers and can be claimed by any other team.
